  • Publication number: 20080230670
Abstract: A wheel caster glide receives caster wheels therein and employs wheel engaging members to keep the glide removably engaged with the wheel in absence of sufficient removal force.

  • Publication number: 20080229507
Abstract: A mattress comprises a first and second memory foam layer, with a gel or elastomeric web layer therebetween. One of the foam layers may be substantially thicker than the other, providing either a firmer or softer mattress, depending on which side is employed as the mattress top.

  • Patent number: 6885713
Abstract: An electromagnetic matched filter based multiple access communications system having a source of modulated pulses from a digital data stream; an initial filter which shapes the incoming modulated pulse into a desired pulse for transmission across the communication medium; a second filter, identical to the initial filter, which is matched to the pulse which exit the communication medium, a detector which converts the modulated pulse stream into the original digital data stream, and signals which are designed with specific mathematical properties which make the system efficient and minimizes crosstalk between channels. The signals decay rapidly from the central lobe at a higher than 1/x rate and the zero points of the autocorrelation function having high order multiplicities. The type of system allows multiplexing of multiple data streams with much greater flexibility, robustness, and density.

  • Patent number: 6789932
Abstract: A decorative carrier for Halloween candy and the like employs fiber optic members to carry and emit light to the exterior surface of the carrier. Additional light sources may be positioned about the carrier, and flashing or non-flashing lighting is provided. An audible emission may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 6131560
Abstract: A portable grill having telescoping legs is disclosed. The grill includes a substantially rectangular grate and two pairs of telescoping legs. Each pair of telescoping legs is pivotally attached to one end of the rectangular grate. The grill can be used to cook food over an open fire, or the grill can be used to cook with charcoal with the aid of a charcoal tray that can be hung below the rectangular grate using S-hooks. The invention also includes a carrying case for allowing the grill to be carried in a backpack without the grill soiling other items in the backpack.

  • Patent number: 4883381
Abstract: A book configured for easy carrying comprises a continuous cover and a fastener fixed to the cover for securing paper thereto. The continuous cover includes a spine, front and rear panels, and front and rear flaps, each of the flaps defining an aperture therethrough configured and dimensioned to receive fingers. The flaps are movable between a storage orientation and a carrying orientation, the flaps in the storage orientation being disposed intermediate the panels, overlying the panels, and extending generally towards the spine, and the flaps in the carrying orientation extending generally outwardly from the panels and away from the spine, with both the flap apertures aligned to permit the passage therethrough of fingers and thereby facilitate carrying of the book.

  • Patent number: 4216538
Abstract: A navigation aid for determining berthing data comprises distance detecting units embodying sonar transducers which are spaced apart along the length of a jetty a short distance behind the berthing line. The units are operative to provide signals indicative of the distance from the berthing line of correspondingly spaced sections of the ship, and a microcomputer selects two out of three of these signals and processes them to determine the distance from the berthing line of nominal bow and stern sections of the ship, the nominal measuring points being different from the actual measuring points at which the transducers are positioned. The microcomputer also processes the selected signals to determine the velocity of the bow and stern sections relative to the berthing line, and controls a jetty display of the determined distance and velocity data in addition to local and remote indications/recordal thereof.
