  • Patent number: 8529604
Abstract: A bottom-loading multi-axial bone anchor apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a receiver member, a crown member, a bone anchor and a retaining member. The receiver member defines an upper opening and a lower opening, which may form part of the same opening, a channel, and a groove. The crown member and bone anchor are loaded into the lower opening of the receiver member, and the retaining member fits around the bone anchor and into the groove in the receiver member. The bone anchor is capable of multi-axial positioning with respect to the receiver member. An elongated member is placed in the channel of the receiver member, contacting the crown member, and a compression member is applied via the upper opening. The compression member presses down on the elongated member, which presses down on the crown member and locks the bone anchor between the crown member and the retaining member.

  • Patent number: 5964808
Abstract: A knee prosthesis including a tibial component for mounting to the proximal end of a tibia, and a femoral component for mounting to the distal end of a femur. At least the face surface of the medial condylar portion of the femoral component may be preferably substantially congruent with the face surface of a medial cavity in the upper surface of the tibial component so that substantially complete surface-to-surface contact between the face surface of the medial cavity in the upper surface of the tibial component and the face surface of the medial condylar portion of the femoral component is provided throughout a significant portion of the range of flexion of the knee joint.

  • Patent number: 5364401
Abstract: An article for preparing a bone to receive a distal implant includes a base having longitudinal axis, a support surface thereon, and seating surfaces for seating the base along a long axis of the bone. A pair of connected brackets are mounted on the base. A first of the brackets is axially adjustable relative to the longitudinal axis of the base and a second bracket is radially adjustable relative to the base. One of the brackets is operatively connected to the support surface and the other of the brackets includes a single point connecting mechanism for connecting a plurality of bone preparing devices to the base at a single point reference axially and radially adjustable relative to the base.
