  • Patent number: 6945676
Abstract: Structure for supporting a lighting fixture includes a connector hook assembly releasably connected to a connector element extending from a support canopy. The connector hook assembly includes two relatively moveable connector hook members biased to a closed condition by a spring. One of the connector hook members has an internally threaded base for connection to a lamp suspension arm. Wiring passes from the suspension arm through an area formed by the internal threads of the base and through an aperture formed in the internally threaded connector hook member.

  • Patent number: 5177392
Abstract: An improved disk-type machine having a plurality of alternating stator and/or rotor sections is disclosed. The stator of the machine has microlaminated stator teeth molded from cut steel particles, mounted on a large disk of composite fiber material which is the main structural component of each stator section. The stator teeth are preferably molded in place during disk manufacture. The stator is designed to operate in a machine having an even number of axial air gaps, but has only a single winding for each stator. One layer of the winding is located on each side of the central supporting disk and the ends of the windings are connected through connectors molded into or mounted on the disk. Multiturn coils may be employed by making a plurality of these connections for each coil. The interior rotor sections of the machine are likewise constructed on supporting rotor disks of composite material, and have pole pieces molded into place during disk manufacture which are wound on both sides of the supporting disk.

  • Patent number: 4928572
Abstract: An electromagnetic projectile launcher which uses a pulsed AC generator with a power supply. The generator is operative to supply a relatively low current pulse to initially accelerate the armature after which an extremely high current pulse is applied for main acceleration. The pre-acceleration pulse may be derived from an auxiliary winding on the generator or may be provided by a relatively smaller generator operated in synchronism with the main generator or physically coupled thereto.

  • Patent number: 4885497
Abstract: A winding for a rotor in a pulse power AC generator has an electrical conductor extending along a closed loop path about an exterior periphery and first and second opposite ends of the rotor core. The conductor includes at least four side conductor portions having first and second opposite ends, and at least four end conductor portions interconnecting the side conductor portions to complete the closed loop path. The side conductor portions extend generally parallel to one another along generally linear portions of the closed loop path and are disposed along and angularly displaced generally ninety electrical degrees from one another about the rotor core exterior periphery. A first pair of the end conductor portions are disposed at the first opposite ends of the side conductor portions along the first end of the rotor core and interconnect respective adjacent pairs of the side conductor portions.
