  • Publication number: 20030043039
Abstract: Security tags for bottles containing valuable or controlled substances are concealed in hidden depressions in the bottle walls and beneath the bottle labels. The security tags are effectively invisible. Alternatively, the hidden depressions may contain fake security tags or the bottles may be molded with integral fake security tags in the depressions.

  • Patent number: 5518392
Abstract: A multi-station injection blow molding apparatus for producing hollow plastic articles, including vertically stacked preform injection molds at a first station, vertically stacked blow molds at a second station and an indexing head assembly having upper and lower core bearing indexing heads which are rotatable in a horizontal plane when the molds are open and also are movable vertically relative to and in correspondence with movement of the molds during opening and closing of the molds. In one embodiment, the movable supports which support the mating mold portions of the upper and lower injection and blow molds are coupled to the mold clamping mechanism of the apparatus through mechanical linkage which causes the upper and lower molds to be opened and closed simultaneously. In another embodiment, the movable supports are coupled together, causing the upper and lower molds to be opened and closed sequentially.

  • Patent number: 5169653
Abstract: A label transfer assembly providing for in-mold labeling of blow molded articles in blow molding machinery. A label carrier is utilized which includes means for individually receiving labels from a label storage magazine. Once loaded with labels, the label carrier is moved to a position adjacent a placement assembly. The labels are removed from the carrier by the placement assembly which includes arms that transfer the labels to positions in mold cavities in the machinery. During molding, the labels will become fused to the surfaces of the blow molded articles.

  • Patent number: 4379688
Abstract: An injection blow molding apparatus capable of achieving biaxial orientation and the produced article is disclosed. The apparatus features a transport table rotatable about and reciprocally movable along its center axis and at least an injection molding station and a blow molding station positioned adjacent to and around the transport table. There is at least one core rod mounted to the transport table, which core rod is moved from the injection molding station to the blow molding station by the table movements. The core rod coacts with the injection molding station to form an injection molded parison which is transported on the core rod to the blow molding station. At the blow molding station, a stretch pin mounted within the core rod is utilized to aid in the biaxial orientation of the final article blown at the blow mold station.
