  • Publication number: 20230358492
Abstract: A speed loader is provided with a hopper configured to receive a plurality of rounds of ammunition. There is a magazine receiving portion configured to receive an open end of a magazine. The speed loader includes a track body extending between the hopper and the magazine receiving portion. The track body defines a passageway dimensioned to transfer one or more of the plurality of rounds from the hopper to the magazine receiving portion. The passageway may be configured to orient rounds in a single file fashion between the hopper and the magazine receiving portion. The speed loader also includes a round loading assembly configured to successively load rounds from the track into the open end of the magazine.

  • Patent number: 9885537
Abstract: A projectile launcher including a receiver with a breech proximate to a barrel. A valve assembly is provided that allows selective flow between a source of compressed gas and the breech. A trigger is provided that is movable between a first position and a second position. The launcher includes a firing assembly configured to actuate the valve assembly responsive to the trigger being in the second position. In some embodiments, the firing assembly includes a trigger assist feature configured to cycle the firing assembly in a fully automatic manner when the trigger is in the second position without reciprocating the trigger during the firing cycle. • Patent number: 9482503
Abstract: A paintball grenade that disperses a marking fluid upon impact. In one embodiment, the paintball grenade includes a flexible, resilient tube sealed at both ends. The tube includes a distended portion containing pressurized marking fluid and a side discharge port for discharging the marking fluid along a discharge axis that is approximately transverse to a longitudinal axis of the tube. A blocking member is disposed in the tube that is movable between a closed position that prevents fluid communication between the distended portion of the tube and the discharge port and an open position that allows fluid communication between the marking fluid and the discharge port. When the paintball grenade is thrown and impacts an object, this results in hydrostatic shock through the marking fluid, which moves the blocking member from the closed position to the open position, thereby discharging the marking fluid through the discharge port onto surrounding objects.

  • Publication number: 20110226227
Abstract: A paintball marker that includes both a mechanical firing mode and an electronically-assisted firing mode. In the mechanical firing mode, the marker launches projectiles without the aid of electronics and therefore does not require an energy source, such as batteries. In the electronically-assisted firing mode, an electronic circuit initiates launching of projectiles. A mode selector is provided that allows a user to select between the mechanical firing mode and the electronically-assisted firing mode.

  • Publication number: 20100224180
Abstract: A paintball marker with a barrel that is coupled to a receiver. A valve arrangement is provided to selectively vent gas to propel projectiles through the barrel responsive to actuation of a firing mechanism. The marker may be configured to provide fluid communication between the valve arrangement and a compressed gas source through either a first supply line passageway or a second supply line passageway.

  • Patent number: 7770504
Abstract: Apparatus for firing a projectile comprises a receiver, a barrel, a supply of combustible gas, a combustion chamber, a valve arrangement for controlling flow of combustible gas from the supply to the combustion chamber, an igniter, and a passageway for directing combustion gases from the chamber to propel a projectile from the apparatus. In one embodiment, the barrel has a longitudinally-extending central axis, and the combustion chamber is disposed laterally adjacent the axis. A method of operating the apparatus comprises the steps of providing a combustible mixture of gas and air to the combustion chamber, igniting the mixture so as to generate combustion gases, allowing pressure in the combustion chamber to increase to a predetermined level, and releasing the gases from the combustion chamber and directing the gases to propel the projectile through the barrel.

  • Patent number: 7770571
Abstract: An anti-jam firing mechanism comprises a front bolt movable between a first position and a second position, in which a crossover point is positioned between the first position and the second position. The front bolt is operative to engage a frangible projectile, such as a paintball, as the front bolt moves from the first position to the second position. A drive mechanism drives the front bolt with either a first force or a second force. The drive mechanism drives the front bolt with the first force when the front bolt travels between the first position and the crossover point. When the front bolt travels between the crossover point and the second position, the drive mechanism drives the front bolt with the second force. Typically, the first force is less than a projectile rupturing force.
