Patent number: 11649943Abstract: A light fixture includes a light receiver, an electrically-powered light source coupled to the light receiver, and a vessel containing a liquid. The vessel is translucent such that the light from the light source radiates through the vessel. The vessel includes an outer wall and an inner wall that define an enclosed area that receives and contains the liquid. The inner wall defines an open area positioned radially inward from the enclosed area and the inner wall includes a top opening and a bottom opening such that the open area is a through-hole extending through the enclosed area. The vessel is configured such that light emitted from the light source passes through the liquid contained within the vessel.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2022Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Inventors: Brian M. Kaule, Nicholas R. Rindt, Dennis L. Snyder

Patent number: 6895845Abstract: Apparatus for continuously cutting a web and removing trim strips therefrom, including a pair of circumferentially spaced knives supported on a cutting shaft, the shaft being rotationally mounted for cutting, in a cutting area, the web transverse to its direction of movement for forming trim strips, a cylinder mounted along the underside of the web for rotation about an axis which is generally perpendicular to the direction of the moving web, the cylinder having a hollow bore communicating with a low pressure source and an opening formed in the surface of the cylinder communicating with the bore for providing low pressure at the opening, the cylinder being rotated at a predetermined speed such that the opening is positioned in the cutting area immediately downstream of the knives each time a trim strip is cut from the web and the opening is rotated away from the cutting area immediately thereafter.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2004Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: Advance Graphics Equipment of York, Inc.Inventor: Dennis L. Snyder

Patent number: 5453069Abstract: A working roller for applying pressure to a web of material interposed between the working roller and an opposing working surface includes a generally tubular roll-shell with bearings at each end thereof, a pair of stationary journals for supporting the roll-shell for rotation about its longitudinal axis, a stationary internal support structure, and a plurality of internal rollers which bear upon the inner wall of the roll-shell and are mounted to the internal support structure by a plurality of individually adjustable thrust-supports for controlling the outer contours of the roll-shell. The invention allows greater control of the outer contours of the roll-shell to compensate for localized, longitudinally asymmetrical deviations from the desired pressure distribution or spacing between the working roller and an opposing working surface or to permit predetermined, non-uniform pressure distributions or spacings between the working roller and an opposing working surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1994Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignee: Snyder Manufacturing Inc.Inventors: Dennis L. Snyder, Brentin H. Myers

Patent number: 5165319Abstract: A rotary cutting knife for paper cutting apparatus or the like includes a circular periphery carrier with a planar front face and a peripheral wall. Cylindrical bores in the peripheral wall receive cylindrical blade inserts. Each blade insert includes at its outer end an inclined planar blade face which intersects the cylindrical insert wall to form a cutting edge of elliptical contour. The insert receiving bores in the carrier are so oriented that inserts can be and are mounted therein with their blade faces all lying in a cutting plane parallel to the planar front face of the carrier and perpendicular to the axis of carrier rotation. Additionally, the bore orientation is such that the outer ends of the inserts lag their inner ends in the direction of carrier rotation. The assembly provides improvements in strength, blade wear life and precision of cut.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1992Date of Patent: November 24, 1992Assignee: Advance Graphics Equipment of York, Ltd.Inventors: Dennis L. Snyder, Michael C. Smith

Patent number: 4544537Abstract: Cyclic dichlorophosphazene trimer which is substantially pure except for catalytic impurities is purified by treating the trimer in the liquid phase with P.sub.2 O.sub.5 for 10-30 minutes at a temperature of 120.degree.-170.degree. C. and atmospheric pressure, then subjecting the reaction mix to a single further purification step by sublimation, melt filtration, or distillation. The purified trimer will not polymerize in the absence of added catalyst at 300.degree. C. or below.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1984Date of Patent: October 1, 1985Assignee: The Firestone Tire & Rubber CompanyInventors: Daniel F. Graves, Dennis L. Snyder
