  • Patent number: 7869830
Abstract: Generally, an antenna module includes a plurality of monopole antenna elements (e.g., 3 to 4 antenna elements) that can be coupled together by one or more switches to provide for a tunable, wideband antenna module. For example, the switches may change the overall length of the antenna such that the frequency range of the antenna is changed. The frequency response may also be controlled by a low voltage micro sized varicap, or a varactor diode, and instantiated as a tuned, resonant matching filter network residing with the antenna module. Additionally, switches may be used to “switch in” and “switch out” capacitive elements to adjust the bandwidth of the antenna. The resonant matching filter network may then be used for fine tuning the frequency of that bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 7359183
Abstract: A two-in-one wireless control kit is adapted to plug in a PCMCIA slot on a portable apparatus for storing and moving along with the portable apparatus and use at any time, and includes a transmitter and a receiver removably associated with each other to form one unit. The transmitter is provided at an upper side with related keys and at a lower side with at least a battery compartment for accommodating required batteries and a locating recess for receiving the receiver therein. The receiver includes a front connecting end for connecting to a related connecting port on the portable apparatus, and locating structures located at predetermined positions to removably engage the receiver with the locating recess below the transmitter, such that the associated transmitter and receiver can be plugged in the PCMCIA slot without projecting any part from the slot.

  • Publication number: 20080072376
Abstract: A mist delivery system includes an enclosure having at least one misting nozzle coupled thereto. The enclosure includes a primary wall and a secondary wall, whereby an air channel is defined between the primary wall and the secondary wall. A controller directs misted air through the misting nozzle and further activates an air flow system such that misted air within the shower area flows through and is dried in the air channel.

  • Publication number: 20070107277
Abstract: A seat identification system for passengers in a cabin of a commercial airliner. Four sign components, identified as the aisle, mile, row and seat components, are arranged and positioned throughout the airplane in a configuration that allows the passengers to receive information about their seats when needed. The aisle signage markers direct the passengers down the appropriate aisle which leads to their seat. The interval row markers or mile markers provide a general location of the particular row in the aircraft for the passenger's seats. The individual row markers are preferably located in the passenger service unit modules and in viewing channels in order to allow the markers to be visible from the aisle. The seat markers are located preferably on the headrest on each seat and are the final vindication that the passenger is in the correct seat.

  • Publication number: 20070018043
Abstract: A pivot system for use with a stowage bin system in a mobile platform (for example, a commercial aircraft) is provided, where the pivot system enables electrical communication between structure pivotally supporting the bin, and electrical components on the bin. The pivot system includes a pivot boss including an engagement extension and a race assembly including a socket. The socket of the race assembly is for receipt of the engagement extension to couple the pivot boss to the race assembly. The pivot system further includes at least one conductor coupled to at least one of the pivot boss and race assembly to enable electrical communication between the pivot base and the race assembly. The system, thus, enables electrical communication between the pivot boss and the race assembly without requiring external wiring.

  • Patent number: 7088605
Abstract: A FeRAM array configured in a ROM format is provided. The FeRAM array includes a memory array that has a plurality of segmented BL/PL arrays, and each segmented BL/PL array defines an I/O. A plurality of charge transfer sense amplifiers is further provided. Each charge transfer sense amplifier is associated with each I/O, and each charge transfer sense amplifier includes a cross coupled latch that is connected between a memory cell access portion and a reference voltage generation portion of the charge transfer sense amplifier. The reference voltage generation portion further includes a reference bitline (Crb) coupled to a reference voltage (Vr), and the reference bitline (Crb) is coupled to a pair of dummy capacitance cells. Each of the dummy capacitance cells is preset before reading at an opposite relative polarity.

  • Publication number: 20060068775
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting wireless local area network (WLAN) signals scans an area for radio-wave signals that meet IEEE802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g standards, and converts any detected radio-wave signal into a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) data, which is stored, recorded, and compared by a control unit with WLAN properties to determine whether there is a WLAN set up in the scanned area, or bearings and strength of any detected WLAN signal, making the detection highly discriminating and sensitive.
