Publication number: 20250068481Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein to recommend load rebalancing based on learned patterns of recurrence. In some aspects, the method receives a requested load usage from a user system and a load usage dataset. Each entry in the load usage dataset corresponds to an instance of load use. The method determines similar instances based on a respective amount and respective category of each entry. The method then clusters the similar instances into a first cluster and a second cluster based on frequencies of the similar instances. The method combines load uses corresponding to the first cluster into a first recurring load use and load uses corresponding to the second cluster into a second recurring load use. The method compares the requested load usage to the second recurring load use to generate a recommendation to the user system for rebalancing load usage.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2023Publication date: February 27, 2025Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Samuel RAPOWITZ, Julian DUQUE, Nathan WOLFE, Jina ZHOU, Helen TEMESGHEN-BLOUNT, Dennis LIU

Publication number: 20250013848Abstract: In some implementations, a device may obtain video and/or lidar data relating to a physical card captured while the physical card is flipped from a first side of the physical card to a second side of the physical card. The device may determine an authenticity of the physical card, where the authenticity of the physical card is based at least in part on one or more physical characteristics of the physical card identifiable from the video and/or the lidar data. The one or more physical characteristics may relate to a thickness of the physical card, a length and width of the physical card, a shape of the physical card, and/or a design feature of the physical card. The device may cause, based on a determination that the physical card is authentic, information associated with the physical card to be transmitted or stored to be used in connection with a transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2024Publication date: January 9, 2025Inventors: Leeyat Bracha TESSLER, Alexander MIRELES, Hazar ALSAHNAWI, Dennis LIU

Publication number: 20240250971Abstract: Methods and systems disclosed herein may detect a malicious user by scanning the messaging platform with the members for any malicious content using sentiment detection. Sentiment detection may be performed using a machine learning model or another type of sentiment detection. For example, the machine learning model may detect a malicious comment and then determine whether the user is malicious using a variety of behavior patterns. For example, the machine learning model may use factors like reactions from the community, sentiment analysis, and the number of posts to determine whether the user is malicious. By doing so, the system is able to search constantly for users that may be malicious.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2023Publication date: July 25, 2024Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Samuel RAPOWITZ, Michael MOSSOBA, Dennis LIU, Austin ERICKSON

Publication number: 20240086549Abstract: The invention relates to generating cryptographic tokens based on characteristic determination. The system may generate and transmit a request for encrypted records from a blockchain node, receive the encrypted records from the blockchain node, decrypt the encrypted records into payload identifiers, retrieve sets of item identifiers based on the payload identifiers, determine characteristics associated with the sets of items, and generate a new cryptographic token that indicates the characteristics.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Samuel RAPOWITZ, Julian DUQUE, Purva SHANKER, Dennis LIU

Patent number: 8442344Abstract: The disclosure describes adaptive filtering techniques to improve the quality of captured image information, such as video or still images. An image sensor captures image information and determines a plurality of parameter values based on a current exposure index and a current scaling factor of the image information. The adaptive spatial image filter includes both horizontal and vertical sharpening filters and configures, i.e., adapts, the horizontal sharpening filter and the vertical sharpening filter based on the plurality of parameter values determined by the image sensor. The adaptive spatial image filter applies the horizontal and vertical sharpening filters to at one channel of the image information to generate filtered image information.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2006Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Xiaoyun Jiang, Chinchuan Andrew Chiu, Dennis Liu, Victor H. Publication number: 20090079668Abstract: A method for measuring the readability of a screen under sunshine is disclosed. In this method, a first set of basic data of a screen module to be tested under dark room conditions is measured. Next, a second set of basic data of the screen module under simulated sunshine conditions is measured. A first screen readability interval data and a second screen readability interval data are then obtained according to the first set of basic data and the second set of basic data. Finally, the first screen readability interval data and the second screen readability interval data are used to determine whether or not the screen module can be clearly read under sunshine. These readability interval data can be used as a basis for leave-factory quality inspection of screens.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2007Publication date: March 26, 2009Inventors: Dennis LIU, Pei Chang Ho, Ching-Yi Lin
