  • Patent number: 4923079
Abstract: A foldable container assembly (10) includes a base (12) having a plurality of sides (14, 16, 18, 20). A wall hinge (24) interconnects each of the side walls (14, 16, 18, 20) to the base (12) with the wall hinge (24) for a first side wall (14) being in a vertically spaced horizontal plane from the wall hinge (24) for a second side wall (16) for folding the first and second side walls (14, 16) over the base (12) and into overlapping vertically spaced relationship to one another. The base (12) is generally convex and includes a rigid top member (80) and a corner support element (86) near each corner of the top member (80), perimeter support element (88) near the perimeter of the top member (80) about midway between adjacent pairs of corner support elements (86), and a center support element (90) near the center of the top member (80).

  • Patent number: 4917255
Abstract: A collapsible container assembly (10) including a base (12) having a plurality of sides (14), a pair of side walls (16,18) and a pair of end walls (20,22) with each wall adapted to be extended vertically upward from a side (14) of the base (12) to define an interior portion (24) of the container (10), interlocking flanges (66,78) on adjacent side and end walls (16,18,20,22) for providing interlocking engagement when the walls are in the upright position and preventing relative movement therebetween, a wall hinge (26) interconnecting each of the side and end walls (16,18,20,22) to the base (12) and moveably supporting the walls as the walls are moved between a collapsed position to an upright position with the walls (16,18,20,22) specifically configured to nest efficiently while in the collapsed position and being able to support a load as other containers (10) are stackedd thereon, wall latches (90) for releasably latching adjacent side and end walls (16,18,20,22) together when the side and end walls are in t

  • Patent number: 4591065
Abstract: A foldable container assembly (10) comprises a base (12) having a plurality of sides, at least one side wall (14, 16, 18, 20) extending vertically upwardly from each side of the base (12) with the tops (22) of the side walls all being aligned in a horizontal plane. The invention is characterized by hinges (24) interconnecting each of the side walls to the base with the hinge for a first wall (14) being in a vertically spaced horizontal plane from the hinge for a second side wall (16) for folding the first (14) and second (16) side walls over the base (12) and into overlapping vertical relationship to one another. Hinges (24) on the first and second walls (14, 16) have an associated link (50) having slots (52) therein for allowing the side wall to move vertically relative to the base (12) for locking and unlocking the walls from one another.

  • Patent number: 4254873
Abstract: A pallet system including two embodiments of a pallet having a deck including four sides and providing a load-supporting surface. A plurality of spaced hollow legs project from the opposite side of the deck and a plurality of hollow reinforcing ribs project from the opposite surface to define channels in the load-supporting surface. A hollow ridge projects from the opposite surface and extends along the sides at the periphery of the deck to define a groove in the load-supporting surface for receiving the bottom edge of a wall. There is at least one transverse rib projecting from the opposite surface and extending between opposite sides of the deck to define a transverse groove in the load-supporting surface for receiving the bottom edge of a transverse wall whereby walls may extend upwardly from the deck to divide and separate the load-supporting surface into discrete areas.
