  • Patent number: 11960813
Abstract: A system and method for automatically generating placement of vias within redistribution layers of a semiconductor package are described. In various implementations, a user defines attributes to use for automatic via generation in redistribution layers of a semiconductor package. The circuitry of a processor of a computing device used by the user executes instructions of an automatic redistribution layer (RDL) via generator. The automatic via generator uses the attributes, data indicative of the RDL netlist of signal routes within the RDL, and RDL mask layout data representing the signal masks of the metal layers within the RDL. The processor generates placement of vias for in the RDL based on the attributes and an identification of overlapping regions between metal layers.

  • Publication number: 20240104985
Abstract: Systems and methods for mutual authentication of a user and a container administrator computer system. A container administrator computer system receives a request from a mobile computing device for a user to access a secure container. The request includes a user identifier. The administrator system receives a first authentication factor corresponding to the user. The administrator system authenticates the user by verifying that the first authentication factor matches a first reference authentication factor associated with the user identifier. The administrator system sends a second authentication factor associated with the administrator system to a human-machine interface associated with the secure container or the mobile computing device. The administrator system receives a notification of authentication of the administrator system using the authentication factor. The administrator system transmits an unlock signal to unlock the secure container.

  • Publication number: 20050261850
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for performing an abbreviated calibration of an automated data storage library. An abbreviated calibration apparatus includes a calibration module, a tracking module, and a system availability module. The calibration module calibrates one or more accessors within the library. Calibration refers to the physical relationship between an accessor and a data storage location, such as a shelf, drive, or I/O station. The calibration module may comprise a run-time calibration module, a successive calibration module, or a cooperative calibration module. The tracking module tracks the calibration progress of the accessors. The system availability module notifies a host when the library is available. The library is made available prior to calibration completion of all of the accessors and, in some embodiments, prior to calibration completion of any of the accessors.

  • Publication number: 20050235147
Abstract: A microphone unit comprising a voice input for receiving a voice input signal, an analog to digital converter for creating a digital signal from voice signal, a voice coding device for creating a voice coded signal output from the digital signal, encryption means for encrypting the voice coded signal, and a modulator for generating a transmittable signal that can be supplied to a radio via the microphone input. Additionally, the microphone unit is capable of performing the steps in reverse upon receiving an encrypted signal. The received signal output from the radio is demodulated, un-encrypted, voice decoded, converted from a digital voice signal to an analog voice signal, and output via a speaker which is preferably built into the microphone unit.

  • Publication number: 20050197735
Abstract: A high input/output (I/O) capacity, multi-frame storage subsystem, method of inserting/ejecting storage media in the storage subsystem and program product therefor. The storage media, e.g., magnetic tape in a physical volume, is placed into storage cells in a service bay before being inserted into the subsystem library or after being ejected from a data library in the subsystem. Whenever the service bay door is opened, the accessor is prevented from entering the service bay and tape cartridges may be inserted in the service bay storage cells or removed from the storage bay storage cells without pausing the subsystem.

  • Publication number: 20050044329
Abstract: A device, method, and system for switching library managers of a data library while maintaining data library storage devices online. A library manager accepts and executes data transaction commands for access to data residing on the storage devices of the data library. A transition manager module receives a directive to transition library management functions from a first library manager to a second library manger. The transition manager module stops the first library manager from accepting new data transaction commands while maintaining the storage devices online. The first library manager may execute previously accepted data transaction commands. The transition manager module suspends the library management functions of the first library manager and activates the library management functions of the second library manager. The storage devices of the data library may complete data transaction commands throughout the library manager transition.

  • Patent number: 6009553
Abstract: A method of data transfer between a transmitter and a receiver over a communications link achieves maximum throughput by dynamically adapting a coding rate, and specifically an error correction encoder, as a function of a measured reverse channel signal parameter. The method comprises the steps of transmitting a signal from the transmitter to the receiver, the receiver receiving and measuring the signal to noise ratio of the transmitted signal. The receiver determines an appropriate code rate and encoding technique as a function of the measured signal to noise ratio and transmits an encoding identifier of the determined encoder to the transmitter. The transmitter encodes its data according to the encoding identifier and transmits the encoded message to the receiver. The receiver receives the encoded message and decodes the message according to the determined code rate and encoding technique.
