  • Publication number: 20230413817
Abstract: A method for controlling the growth of vegetation includes a step of applying a composition to the foliage of the vegetation, without any pre-heating. The application of the composition induces osmosis on cells of the foliage and destroys those cells. The composition includes an aqueous solution of at least one sugar, and optionally further includes a penetrant and an additional component such as a fatty acid. The sugar may be selected from natural plant-based sugars, sugar substitutes and sugar alcohols. The concentrations of the active ingredients may be varied to give either a weed-killing effect, or a plant growth inhibitor effect, as desired.

  • Publication number: 20160138654
Abstract: A bearing seal assembly is provided for sealing a sealing gap defined by a first race and a second race of a bearing. The bearing seal assembly includes a resilient seal having a cross-sectional profile, wherein the profile defines a flexing portion, and the resilient seal further has a first pressure-bearing side and a second side opposite the first pressure-bearing side. The flexing portion is configured to flex to form an energized seal that seals the sealing gap when a pressure is applied to the first side of the resilient seal, wherein the cross-sectional profile is symmetric about a horizontal axis and asymmetric about a vertical axis. The cross-sectional profile specifically may be a K-shaped profile, and the flexing portion comprises arms defined by the K-shaped profile. The assembly may include a wear strip section positioned outside of the profile of the resilient seal, with a removable blast shield.

  • Publication number: 20100034741
Abstract: The present invention relates to radiolabelled compounds particularly 1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane compounds (i.e., quinuclidine compounds) which are labeled with one or more radioisotopes and which are suitable for imaging or therapeutic treatment of tissues, organs, or tumors which express the ?7-nicotinic cholinergic receptor. In another embodiment, the invention relates to methods of imaging tissues, organs, or tumors using radiolabeled compounds of the invention, particularly tissues, organs, or tumors which express ?7-nicotinic cholinergic receptor to which the compounds of the invention have an affinity.

  • Patent number: 7476014
Abstract: A vehicle headlamp unit that is configured for use with either a halogen lamp or a high intensity discharge lamp. The headlamp unit includes a housing within which a reflector is located for reflecting light from the headlamp unit. A lamp is supported within the reflector and a lamp socket is electrically connected to the lamp. The lamp socket including a wire harness receptacle having a first configuration that is configured to matingly engage the wire harness connector. A secondary receptacle is also connected to the housing. The secondary receptacle has a second configuration that at least partially duplicates the first configuration and is configured to matingly engage the wire harness connector. Accordingly, both the wire harness receptacle and the secondary receptacle are configured to alternately receive and matingly engage the wire harness connector.

  • Publication number: 20070268025
Abstract: A damage detection system includes a processor and a transmitter communicatively connected to the processor. The transmitter sends a signal to the processor and the processor is programmed to assign a spatial coordinate to the transmitter. The processor is further programmed to identify a transmitter location as damaged when the transmitter fails to send the signal. The damage detection system may analyze the damaged area and report potentially affected sub-systems to users of a machine or vehicle equipped with the damage detection system.

  • Publication number: 20070061109
Abstract: Systems and techniques to assess damage. A damage reporting module may allow a user to provide information indicative of a damage description and damage location. The damage reporting module may create a data object based on the information. The data object may be used to compare the damage event to one or more historical damage events. The data object may be used in an analysis module to automatically determine disposition information (e.g., repair information).

  • Patent number: 5241782
Abstract: A support used for supporting a crop cover such as plastic sheet, cloth or netting that is often applied over crops in a field having a plurality of stakes which receive a plurality of the wire-form crop cover supports about their upper ends. The crop cover supports are either formed from a single typically galvanized wire or are formed from two or more galvanized wires welded together. The wire-form crop cover supports include a lower portion having a series of wire loops which are adapted to be disposed about the upper end of a stake, an intermediate wire portion including an upwardly extending flexible wire segment, and a top wire portion having a wire end, the top wire portion being shaped in such a manner that the wire end will not damage the crop cover. The wire-form crop cover support further includes a stop segment which may rest on the top end of the stake.
