  • Patent number: 7130778
Abstract: A computerized audio or video signal control system controlled by an announcer and having a display of the available signal sources and scheduled events which can be activated, mixed, faded and cued by the announcer in the scheduled order or in an order the announcer desires. The control system provides the correlation between the displayed source or event name, the devices necessary to air the source or event and the routing necessary to air the event or source and then activates the proper devices to perform the task. The control system additionally logs the events actually activated in order.

  • Publication number: 20050184472
Abstract: A hydraulic holder (203) of a cutting tool or workpiece with a hydraulic circuit (211) contained in a cartridge (107) separate from the holder (203). The cartridge (107) is fixedly inserted in an axial bore (106) of the holder for clamping a tool or workpiece. The hydraulic cartridge (107) comprising a first actuator access port (105) in the toolholder; a second actuator access port (108) in a cartridge shell (210); a cartridge body (200) affixed fluid tight in the cartridge shell (210); the cartridge body having (i) a piston cylinder (204) in axial alignment with the first actuator access port and the second actuator access port.

  • Publication number: 20050044686
Abstract: A tool or workpiece holder comprised of a hydraulic circuit in a cartridge located in the holder's axial bore. The cartridge comprising (i) an inner wall surrounding and forming an inner clamping bore, (ii) an outer shell surrounding the inner wall, (iii) at least one positioning ring, (iv) a hydraulic circuit, (v) a deformable clamping band in the inner wall, (vi) hydraulic fluid filling the hydraulic circuit, (vii) an actuator for compressing the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic circuit.

  • Patent number: 6003356
Abstract: An extrusion process is described where a reinforcing element is fed into an extrusion matrix while the reinforcing element is under sufficient tension to elastically elongate the reinforcing element. When the extruded matrix is hardened (e.g., by cooling after extrusion), the reinforcing element remains inserted within the body of the extruded article in a pre-stressed form. A reinforced extruded article according to the present invention includes the extruded material and at least one embedded element under elongated tension. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the embedded element has a higher tensile than that of the extruded material. The reinforcing member is able to elastically stretch or lengthen under a load. A preferred embodiment of the invention uses wire rope (twined, braided, cabled, woven, non-woven, or mixtures thereof) with different, varying or larger angles (as with larger helix angles) to give the extruded material a larger surface area with which to grip the extrusion.

  • Patent number: 5954611
Abstract: A transmission includes a ring member, a sun member, a number of planetary sheaves and a serpentine drive member which wraps around the sun member, and the planetary sheaves. The planetary sheaves are attached to a planet carrier at a distance from the sun member. When the serpentine drive member is wrapped around the sun member and the planetary sheaves, the serpentine drive member forms a C-shape. The transmission can be used in a device that has an input shaft that must be rotated at a first speed and an output shaft that must be rotated at a second speed. The transmission can even be used as a reverser. The serpentine drive member can be any type of drive member, including a timing belt with teeth, a flat belt, a cable chain, or a link chain.

  • Patent number: 5653492
Abstract: A three-panel vehicle cover comprising two side panels each connected by full length zippers to a center panel, upper flaps of material overlaying the zippers to prevent adverse elements from penetrating through the zippers, lower flaps of material underlaying the zippers to prevent the zippers from scratching the surface of the vehicle over which it is used, and structure for temporarily supporting each side panel in a position adjacent to the center panel during deployment and removal for ease in securely zipping the two panels together. It is contemplated for the vehicle cover to be configured to the approximate contour of the vehicle on which it will be used and for zippers to have removable locking members attached thereto. Also, the vehicle cover may have a lower hem on its bottom edge, with a stretchable cord positioned therein, to help maintain the vehicle cover in a fixed position over a vehicle.
