  • Publication number: 20210229066
Abstract: A composition for purifying a liquid, such as used cooking oil, unrefined edible oils, or biodiesel fuel, that comprises at least one purifying material, such as magnesium silicate, and at least one binder material that is a solid or a semi-solid at room temperature, or is water or a glycol. When the composition is placed in a liquid, and the liquid is heated, the solid composition disintegrates and the at least one purifying material is released in the liquid. Such composition minimizes or eliminates contact with the dust associated with solid adsorbent materials, and provides for a controlled release of the at least one purifying material into the liquid to be purified.

  • Publication number: 20200324227
Abstract: A medium for filtering a fluid, such as cooking oil, unrefined edible oil, biodiesel fuel, and fruit-based and vegetable-based beverages, which comprises a top filter panel and a bottom filter panel. Each of the top filter panel and the bottom filter panel has a planar surface, and the top filter panel is in contact with the bottom filter panel. The top panel has at least one opening in communication with the bottom panel such that the filter medium provides for controlled flow of the fluid through the top filter panel and the bottom filter panel. The top filter panel is designed to provide longer filter life before plugging or fouling of the filter.

  • Publication number: 20200188824
Abstract: A medium for filtering a fluid, such as cooking oil, biodiesel fuel, and fruit-based and vegetable-based beverages, which comprises a filter having a planar surface and at least one projection which projects upwardly from the planar surface. The filter may be impregnated with at least one adsorbent material for removing impurities from the fluid. The at least one projection projects upwardly from the planar surface such that the filter provides for a three-dimensional surface providing additional contact area for the filter. The three-dimensional surface pattern is designed to provide longer filter life before plugging or fouling and allow for controlled flow of the fluid through the filter.

  • Publication number: 20190328011
Abstract: A method of purifying cooking oil or fat by contacting the cooking oil or fat with at least one amino-functionalized silica adsorbent material, wherein the at least one amino-functionalized silica adsorbent material is not in the form of a cationic species. Such method provides for improved removal of free fatty acids from the cooking oil or fat without generating or producing soaps.

  • Patent number: 9682586
Abstract: An aqueous cationic polyurethane dispersion for waterborne digital print and other applications comprising an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane having properly positioned tertiary amino groups, e.g., tethered tertiary amino group separated from backbone by at least two intervening atoms or terminal tertiary amino groups with multiple tertiary amino groups per terminus, where said amino groups are optionally partially quaternized and/or neutralized.

  • Publication number: 20130129639
Abstract: This invention relates to a cationically and hydrophobically modified polygalactomannan having repeating units with a D-mannosyl to D-galactosyl residue ratio of at least 5 to 1 and to compositions containing same. A portion of the hydrogen atoms of hydroxyl groups situated on the mannosyl and galactosyl residues of the galactomannan are replaced with a hydrophobic substituent and a cationic substituent.
