Publication number: 20240018964Abstract: A liquid pumping vehicle has: a platform rotatably mounted on a frame; an articulated boom mounted on the platform; a first liquid pump mounted on the boom; a second liquid pump mounted on the platform on the engine-side, the second liquid pump in fluid connection with a fluid conduit through which the first liquid pump pumps the liquid, and an engine mounted on the platform, so that a rotation axis of the platform is between the boom and the engine and so that a weight of the engine, the second liquid pump and other components on an engine-side of the platform acts as a counterbalance to a weight of the boom and other components on a boom-side of the platform; and, The vehicle is better balanced for greater stability when in use for pumping a liquid, e.g., liquid manure.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2023Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventor: Ian Dennis NUHN

Collection means for a mobile vacuum apparatus for the collection of liquid or semi-liquid materials
Patent number: 8336163Abstract: The apparatus comprises a front-mounted collection means for a vacuum tank for the collection of liquid or semi-liquid materials. The collection means comprises a substantially V-shaped housing with a scraper at the bottom thereof, a height adjustable suction inlet at the apex thereof, and a pair of laterally adjustable pivoting wings for varying its width to correspond to that of an alley or gutter. A plurality of rotary feeders, each having a vertical axis of rotation, are mounted to the housing adjacent the scraper to prevent accumulation of the materials on the scraper. The feeders do not contact either the surface upon which the scraper is operated, nor the scraper itself, but serve to mix thick consistency materials with thinner consistency materials and also to dislodge any accumulation that does occur.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2009Date of Patent: December 25, 2012Assignee: Nuhn Industries LimitedInventor: Dennis Nuhn -
Patent number: 8191202Abstract: The apparatus comprises a vacuum tank with a front-mounted collection means thereunder The collection means is a V-shaped scraper with a height adjustable suction inlet at the apex thereof. The collection means has a pair of laterally adjustable pivoting wings for varying its width to correspond to that of an alley or gutter. The suction inlet may be equipped with a snorkel to introduce a small quantity of air as an aid in entraining thick-consistency materials. A blower vac is used to both draw air into and blow air through the vacuum tank. A valve means comprising a pair of oppositely oriented check valves is used to alternate flow paths between a lowered rearward exhaust during collection and an elevated intake during tank discharge.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2010Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Nuhn Industries Ltd.Inventor: Dennis Nuhn

Publication number: 20100019072Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a land application vehicle for a semi-solid material, such as bio-solids. The vehicle includes a hopper and a distributor. The distributor includes a housing having a distributor inlet and at least one distributor outlet, a first distributor auger in the housing configured for transferring semi-solid material away from the distributor inlet towards the at least one distributor outlet and a second distributor auger in the housing configured for transferring semi-solid material back towards the distributor inlet. This creates re-circulation of the semi-solid material within the distributor, which inhibits packing of the semi-solid material at the ends of the distributor and generally aids in uniform distribution of the material.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2009Publication date: January 28, 2010Inventor: Dennis Nuhn

Patent number: 7159889Abstract: A liquid manure spreader is described which comprises a frame having a plurality of frame portions and having articulation means between each frame portion for permitting relative movement of each frame portion in response to directional changes of the liquid manure spreader. Such an arrangement facilitates turning of the liquid manure spreader. The liquid manure spreader also comprises two or more liquid manure tanks which are in fluid communication with each other. A pump may be used to re-circulate the liquid manure between the tanks, transfer the liquid manure to a spreader means, or both. Liquid manure can also be transferred between the tanks to thereby achieve a pre-determined weight distribution between the tanks. Such a fluid arrangement permits better weight distribution leading to better handling of the manure spreader.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2004Date of Patent: January 9, 2007Assignee: Nuhn Industries LimitedInventors: Dennis Nuhn, Ian Nuhn
