  • Patent number: 5080291
Abstract: A method of recycling automobile waste residue after major metal scrap has been separated therefrom. The residue includes such material as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glass and fluff material including plastics. This residue is granulated and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals and glass are separated from the fluff material. The fluff material is fed to a mixing station whereat an amount of plastic material is added to the fluff material such that, when combined with the plastic material already in the fluff material, the resulting composition is on the order of a 50:50 ratio of plastic and non-plastic materials. This composition then is mixed and can be further processed to form a usable recycled product.
