  • Patent number: 4799916
Abstract: A motorless toy vehicle and propelling track. The toy vehicle includes a gear housing having a drive system, the drive system including a drive gear and a ratchet means for controlling the direction of rotation of the drive gear. The track is adapted to receive and laterally direct the toy vehicle as it passes there along and includes a rack coextensive with the track having upwardly disposed teeth there along which operably engage with the drive gear. A rack drive reciprocates the rack back and forth in the track interacting with the ratcheted drive gear to propel the toy vehicle in the direction determined by the position of the ratchet means. Hill and switch tracks are also provided.

  • Patent number: 4778433
Abstract: The disclosed toy creature defines a mouth, a tongue, and means for manipulating the tongue between a substantially extended straight orientation projecting from the mouth, and a coiled orientation totally within the mouth. As so manipulated, the tongue may be coiled around and entrap some toy prey, and draw the prey back toward and into the mouth, as if to eat the prey. The mouth may be opened and closed, correlated to the movement of the tongue, particularly in opening the mouth wide only upon the tongue being recoiled, to carry the captured prey into the opened mouth. The tongue may be formed of links, pivoted together end-to-end; and a push-pull member, extended substantially the full length of the tongue links, but offset laterally from the pivot connections, may be used for manipulating the tongue.

  • Patent number: 4639236
Abstract: A toy formed as a small vehicle which is propelled from a simulated explosive such as dynamite. The simulated dynamite is inserted in the rear of the toy. The toy vehicle is released from the simulated explosive by a cable attached to a plunger type detonator. The insertion of the simulated dynamite into the vehicle compresses a spring which drives the vehicle away from the simulated dynamite on actuation of a release mechanism.
