    Abstract: A control system for a fume hood, wherein limit switches sense the position of the sash, and pressure and light sensors monitor pressure changes in the fume hood and ambient light. A low volume fan continously draws air through the fume hood. When the sash is opened the high volume fan is actuated. Air flow is monitored as the sash position is changed; and an alarm system is actuated when an unsafe condition exists.
