  • Patent number: 7950669
Abstract: The invention provides a method that can be applied, for example, to seal a constant velocity joint. The invention includes a method comprising the steps of substantially sealing the constant velocity joint with the primary boot which includes first and second ends, fixedly associating the first end of the primary boot with the constant velocity joint, and slidably associating the second end of the primary boot with the shaft which extends from the constant velocity joint. In one aspect, the invention includes a primary boot having a body defining a substantially smooth interior surface and a secondary boot associated with the primary boot and spaced from the interior surface. In another aspect, the invention includes a constant velocity joint having an outer joint member, an inner joint member positioned in the outer joint member, a plurality of ball members positioned between said outer and inner joint members, and a shaft engaged with and extending from the inner joint member.

  • Patent number: 5961249
Abstract: A lockable and removable barrier assembly (10) includes a post (32) which is removably mounted in a sleeve (12). The bottom end (32B) of the post is mounted in the top end (12A) of the sleeve such that a securing opening (14) of the sleeve is aligned with a securing opening (35) of the post. A securing mechanism (42) is located in the inner chamber (32C) of the post. The securing mechanism includes a securing lever (52) which is pivotably mounted at the bottom end (52B) to a mounting bracket (44). The lever includes a securing lug (58) which extends through a securing opening in the post and sleeve to secure the post in position in the sleeve. The top end (52A) of the lever is held in the secured position by a lock (60) which extends through a hole in the end of the lever and through a hole in the locking bracket (48) mounted on the sidewall of the post in the inner chamber.

  • Patent number: 5878964
Abstract: A nozzle for a rotary water delivery system comprising at least a pair of nozzle orifices of similar size spaced apart on a face of the nozzle and having a nozzle orifice size to nozzle orifice spacing distance ratio of about 1:2 to about 1: 10, said ratio being sufficient to produce separate nozzle streams which emerge from the nozzle face as separate streams which may join together or commingle only at a distance from said face which does not appreciably increase an overall velocity of a resultant stream or commingled stream or individual streams so that the gallonage per minute delivered by the nozzle can be increased incrementally in multiples without appreciably increasing the distance thrown by the resultant water stream.
