  • Patent number: 5154888
Abstract: There are described a cuvette and a method for sealing off flow such as flow in a passageway from an access port in the cuvette with a closure, that ensures a complete seal merely by applying the closure. The cuvette is improved in that it has the closure in a closure portion that is joined to the rest of the cuvette along a hinge line that passes through the passageway to be closed off, so that application of the closure by bending the closure portion about the hinge line pinches off the passageway.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 15, 1991
Date of Patent: October 13, 1992
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: Dennis R. Zander, John B. Chemelli, Craig A. Caprio
  • Patent number: 5120503
Abstract: There is described a container used to extract antigens for an immunoassay, having a wall means defining open and closed opposite ends. The container is provided with dividing members located in the closed end of the container which divides the volume of the closed end into at least two separate regions. A portion of the container's wall means adjacent to the closed end is shaped and sized to cooperate with a depositing device to ensure that separate reagents are separately deposited on opposite sides of the dividing members.

  • Patent number: 4968486
Abstract: There is described a container having a closed end and a reagent deposited in the closed end. The container is provided with means for preventing shock from being transmitted to the closed end when that end strikes a hard object.

  • Patent number: 4763403
Abstract: A method for making an electronic component, for example, a motor coil. The method comprises the steps of forming a plurality of conductive layers and interconnecting the layers to provide an electrically conductive path between the layers. In order to form interconnections between the layers which have a low electrical resistance and which can be formed in a high-speed automated process, a conductive paste is applied to one of the conductive layers and the layers are superposed to form the interconnections.

  • Patent number: 4380180
Abstract: The kinetic energy of an intermittently movable work member is converted, independently of its main drive motor, to potential energy during deceleration of the work member as it approaches each of its dwell positions. During the initial portion of the next index step, the stored potential energy is imparted to the work member, again independently of the drive motor, to assist in the work member's acceleration and to reduce the demands on the drive motor. Since the energy storage and transfer occurs independently of the drive motor, armature current and temperature increase in the drive motor is minimized for any given performance level.
