  • Patent number: 4932287
Abstract: A plurality of retaining pins extending laterally outwardly from the side edges of a sole of a bicyclist's shoe engage in conjugate holes formed in inner and outer spring-loaded retaining plates which extend vertically upwardly from a pedal, thereby securing the shoe to the pedal. The inner retaining plate is laterally movable away from the outer retaining plate by shifting the shoe inwardly, thereby enabling the shoe to be engaged and disengaged from the pedal. The outer retaining plate may be depressed by the shoe and automatically latched into a retracted position inside the pedal body so that the shoe may be secured to the pedal by only the inner retaining plate or may be disengaged completely. The outer retaining plate may be unlatched and released to return to upper position concurrently with movement of the inner retaining plate away from the outer retaining plate.

  • Patent number: 4088275
Abstract: A dispenser for a plurality of spools of ribbon wherein the spools are rotatably mounted within an open polygonal shaped frame having a plurality of interconnected sides. One lateral side of the frame is hingedly connected to the front side of the frame and is capable of hinging movement in respect thereto providing access to the spools for removal and replacement. The hingedly connected side includes a latching means to lock the device in a closed position. Each spool is mounted upon a shaft and upon each shaft is the resistance bearing assembly which keeps its respective spool from freely rotating. Flat ribbon which is wound upon each spool is conducted into a funneling device which includes a resisting device which presses against the ribbons and prevents the ribbons from being moved with respect to the funneling device when the device is not being used.

  • Patent number: 3942736
Abstract: A dispenser for a spool of ribbon wherein the spool is rotatably mounted within an open frame. An adjustment means interconnects between the spool and the frame in order to vary the tension of the dispensing of the ribbon. A handle means is attached to the frame and includes a rotatable member therein through which person's finger may be positioned and the entire device then rotated with respect to the person's finger. A funnel is attached to the forward end of the frame and the ribbon is conducted therethrough and the funnel includes a flat spout through which the ribbon is passed. The flat spout maintains the ribbon in a flat aligned condition with respect to the frame.
