  • Patent number: 9707506
Abstract: Wet-scrubber for cleaning flue gas, said wet scrubber comprising. The wet scrubber comprises a first end and a second end. Furthermore, it comprises an annular wall extending between the first end and the second end so as to form a chamber having a longitudinal axis, said annular wall and said ends having an inner surface and an outer surface, where said chamber comprises an inlet opening and an outlet opening, said openings being in fluid communication and defining a downstream direction from the inlet opening to the outlet opening. Furthermore, the wet-scrubber comprises a liquid distribution system comprising at least one liquid exit aperture for distributing a liquid film on the inner surface of the chamber. Finally, the wet-scrubber further comprises means arranged to rotate the liquid film on the inner surface of the annular wall relative to the annular wall.

  • Patent number: 9079135
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating flue gas and/or condensates thereof suitable for removal of sulphur-containing compounds by contacting the flue gas condensate with a calcium-containing material to produce a liquid; cooling the liquid to a temperature below 60° C. or less, and adding a second material (such as carbon dioxide) to the cooled liquid to maintain the pH in range of 6 to 9 and separating off the resulting precipitate. The invention also relates to the purified flue gas and to a system for conducting the method according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20150064632
Abstract: A fluid fuel burning device, comprising: an elongated combustion compartment comprising side walls, where distal end is open allowing fluid communication from inside the combustion compartment and out of compartment; an insulation layer arranged on the inner surface of the side walls and/or on an inner surface of the proximal end of the compartment, preventing heat inside the compartment from radiating away from the compartment from the side walls and/or the proximal end, air flow means for providing a current of air, a fuel nozzle for aerification of the fluid fuel inside the combustion compartment, fuel feeding means for feeding fluid fuel to the fuel nozzle, pressure providing means for applying pressure to the fluid fuel fed via the fuel feeding means, and where the insulation layer comprises a heat absorbent layer that is of a temperature retentive material and radiating heat from the absorbent layer into the combustion compartment.

  • Publication number: 20140363364
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for purification of produced water and to a system for carrying out the inventive method. Further, the invention relates to a purified produced water product obtainable according to the invention. A unique sequence of unit operations including the addition of dissolved calcium hydroxide and the subsequent precipitation thereof enable a particularly efficient removal of contaminating substances from produced water from the petrochemical industry.

  • Publication number: 20140319075
Abstract: A liquid treatment device for treatment of liquid contaminated with living organisms comprising a rotating means having a first surface for receiving the liquid to be treated, where the first surface is provided with engaging means for engaging the liquid and to provide acceleration to the liquid upon rotation of the rotating means, stationary means which is stationary relative to the rotating means and arranged to form a boundary in order to constrict the liquid on the first surface of the rotating means, where the stationary means is arranged to define at least one slit between the first surface of the rotating means and a first end of the stationary means allowing the liquid to pass between the rotating means and the stationary means, and where the engaging means are at least provided on a surface area of the rotating means that interacts with the at least one slit.

  • Publication number: 20140183131
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for removal of dissolved organic compounds, in particular bioaccumulative substances, in process water (eg. of the petrochemial industry) and to a system for carrying out the inventive method. Process water containing toxic and/or bioaccumulative substances is mixed in the mixing vessel (2) with an extractant. The resulting emulsion is directed into a separation vessel (3) to separate the aqueous phase from the organic phase. The aqueous phase is directed into a first distillation unit (5), where vaporisation of the extractant is carried out. The organic phase is directed to a second distillation unit (7). The resulting distillate is recirculated via a condenser unit (8) into the mixing vessel (2).
