  • Publication number: 20240125260
Abstract: The invention relates to a heating module for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine, said heating module comprising at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening by means of which the heating module can be connected to the exhaust gas system, wherein a main line and a secondary line are provided between the inlet opening and the outlet opening to guide an exhaust gas flowing through the heating module, said main line and secondary line being in connection with one another at their upstream ends via a branching section and at their downstream ends via a merging chamber. A control device for controlling the exhaust gas flow flowing through the main line is further provided in the main line. The heating module is characterized in that the heating module comprises an oxidation catalyst that is at least sectionally arranged in the merging chamber. The invention further relates to a corresponding method.

  • Patent number: 11814999
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mixing apparatus for introducing and distributing a liquid additive into a gas flow, in particular for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine. The mixing apparatus comprises a gas-guiding section for guiding the gas flow and a metering-in device for introducing the additive into a metering-in region of the gas-guiding section. Furthermore, a heating device for actively heating at least one heating section of the gas-guiding section is provided. The heating section is arranged in the metering-in region and/or downstream of the metering-in region. The gas-guiding section has, in the heating section, at least one elevated portion projecting radially into the gas flow for influencing the flow of the gas flow and thus the preparation of the additive.

  • Patent number: 10508579
Abstract: A mixer device for introducing and distributing a liquid into a gas flow comprises a mixing chamber which can be flowed through by the gas flow, an overflow pipe which is arranged at least partly in the mixing chamber and which has a jacket surface and a first and a second pipe end, and at least one injector associated with the first pipe end of the overflow pipe to inject the liquid into the overflow pipe. The jacket surface of the overflow pipe has at least one inflow opening through which gas can flow from the mixing chamber into the overflow pipe for a subsequent mixing with the injected fluid. The overflow pipe is configured such that inflowing gas in its interior can have two swirl components of opposite senses imparted onto it.

  • Publication number: 20160061078
Abstract: An exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine comprises a pipe section which is disposed in the exhaust train of the exhaust gas system and to which a main fluid containing an exhaust gas is supplied, in particular at an angle to the flow axis of the pipe section. The exhaust gas system comprises a device for injecting a further fluid, in particular a water-urea mixture or a liquid fuel, into the pipe section. Means, in particular stationary means, for generating a swirl by which the spray cone of the injected further fluid is preferably set up are provided in the inlet region of the pipe section.
