  • Publication number: 20080044538
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for solubilizing an oil-soluble pigment efficiently in an oil or fat by extraction of a solid preparation containing the oil-soluble pigment, where the extraction takes place in the presence of water, an edible oil or fat and a nonionic surfactant. It also relates to the composition prepared by the extraction, and the use of this composition in animal feed to produce feed pellets. The combination of water and nonionic surfactant increases the amount of pigment that is extracted and solubilized.
