  • Publication number: 20240291253
Abstract: An advanced cable preparation system for automatically and accurately preparing electric cables for termination is provided. The system includes multiple subassemblies and modules for removing one or more cable layers in order to prepare the cable end(s) for safe and effective termination. The system can include a housing with a sensor module, a processing module, and a one or more subassemblies including a cutting module, a power module, a neutral handling module, and a communication module. Some embodiments of the system can also include a heating module and a roller module. The advanced cable preparation system and method automatically detects one or more cable parameters of the electric cable using the sensor module and adjusts the configuration of one or more modules to appropriately remove one or more layers of the electric cable to prepare the electric cable for termination.

  • Patent number: 11774025
Abstract: A fitting for connecting a branch conduit to a liner installed in a main pipe is configured to mechanically connect to the branch conduit as it is inserted into the branch conduit from inside the main pipe. The mechanical connection is established without rotating the fitting. The fitting can include a body having an outer shaft section for being received in the branch conduit and an inner flange section for opposing the liner within the main pipe. The fastener include one or more teeth that extend radially from the exterior of the shaft section. The teeth can be secured to the shaft section by deforming portions of the fitting body against the teeth. The flange section supports a gasket for sealing against the liner when the fitting is installed. The flange section can include a rim that maintains the gasket in the proper position.
