  • Publication number: 20050186526
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement and for treating relapse. The orthodontic methods comprise applying force to reposition teeth and administering a tissue remodeling and/or an angiogenic substance to the periodontal tissue surrounding the teeth to be moved. The substance may be delivered before, during, or after the teeth are moved, and the substance may be selectively applied only to those teeth undergoing movement at any particular time. The substance may be applied from the dental repositioning appliance or may be applied separately, either locally or systemically. Orthodontic kits are also encompassed by the instant invention.

  • Publication number: 20030117433
Abstract: The Universal Plug and Play architecture contemplates devices and control points that can automatically integrate themselves into a network and provide functionality to a user. Extensions are provided that allow an information presentation appliance to identify categories of information the user wishes that appliance to display. The appliance, acting as a device, can advertise functionality that only allows for the display of information that matches the categories selected by the user. Alternatively, the appliance can act as a control point and request information from information storage devices that matches the categories selected by the user. Using either alternative, the user is allowed to tune, at the appliance, the information that the appliance presents.

  • Patent number: 6438110
Abstract: A process and apparatus for scheduling reservations across a communications networks receives a plurality of connection requests specifying a time for the connection, and attempts to find a route for the connection. If an available route is found, the connection is reserved in advance. Unscheduled connection requests are stored in the list, which is generated as a display view at a graphical user interface. Similarly, reserved connections are stored in another list which forms a basis for a display view of reserved connections. The list of reserved connections is used by a network controller to implement the reserved connections at the appropriate times.

  • Patent number: 6308174
Abstract: A method of managing a communications network is described which makes use of information about the current state of the network and in addition, information about past and/or future states of the network. Information about the current state of the network is stored in a management information base (MIB) and the information about the past/future states is either stored in this MIB, or separate past/future MIBs are created. The information about the past/future states is stored in a way such that it can be operated on in the same way as the information about the current state of the network. By storing the information in this way management of the network is improved. For example, future states of the network can be tested before being implemented. Also, information about past states can be used to predict future states. Fault management, configuration management, accounting management and performance management can all be improved by using the information about past/future states.
