Patent number: 4312645Abstract: A filtering assembly for an air intake duct for a turbine device for normally removing particulate matter entrained in the air being introduced to the turbine device through the air duct. The improved filtering assembly comprises a filter element for removing particulate matter entrained in air passing therethrough which is mounted in the air duct so that at least a section of the filter element is movable between a filtering position and bypass position. More particularly, the filter element is mounted in the air duct so that when it is in the filtering position, substantially all of the air passing through the air duct passes through the filter element and so that when it is in the bypass position, a substantial amount of the air passing through the air duct bypasses the filter. A suitable sensing device is provided for sensing the pressure differential of the air across the filter element in the air duct and a clamping device is provided which normally clamps the filter element in the filtering position.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1980Date of Patent: January 26, 1982Assignee: Parmatic Filter CorporationInventors: Stratos Mavros, Dennis Wright

Patent number: 4121439Abstract: In a knitting machine the needle beds and yarn feeders circulate relative to one another. This normally produces a tubular fabric. In order to leave a gap in the tube, a zone of each needle bed is arranged as a non-knit zone. To save yarn the yarns are not normally allowed to float across the gap, but are severed and trapped. To hold the edges straight, periodic yarns are allowed to float across the gap.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1976Date of Patent: October 24, 1978Assignee: Wildt, Mellor Bromley LimitedInventor: Dennis Wright

Patent number: 3995456Abstract: A circular knitting machine is described in which two devices for temporarily trapping cut fringe yarns are mounted on the needle cylinder, respectively immediately following the last needle to knit and immediately preceding the first needle to knit. Each trapping device has a radially movable yarn gripping jaw urged into contact with a fixed jaw by resilient means. A cam-operated mechanism temporarily moves the movable jaw out of contact with the fixed jaw against the action of the resilient means in order to allow insertion of a fringe yarn between the jaws and release of a fringe yarn from the jaws.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1976Date of Patent: December 7, 1976Assignee: Wildt Mellor Bromley LimitedInventor: Dennis Wright
