  • Patent number: 8041806
Abstract: Targeted electronic content delivery control systems and methods are disclosed. All communication traffic exchanged with a communication network subscriber over an access communication link that enables the subscriber to access electronic content is monitored, and behavioral information indicative of behavior of the subscriber in using the access communication link is collected from the monitored communication traffic. A behavioral profile of the subscriber is maintained based on the behavioral information. Delivery of targeted electronic content to the subscriber for presentation with electronic content accessed by the subscriber is controlled based on the behavioral profile.

  • Patent number: 7418002
Abstract: A method and apparatus for buffering data units in a communication switch that allows for configurable monitoring of the buffer contents is presented. Such an apparatus includes a context table that stores a plurality of independent group identifiers for each connection. Although the group identifiers may include a partition group identifier and a loss group identifier that is dependent on the partition group identifier, additional group identifiers are included in the context table for each connection that are independent of other group identifiers in the context table. Such a context table may be dynamically reconfigured in order to group connections for buffer monitoring operations related to congestion detection, traffic shaping, and data admission with respect to buffering. When a data unit is received corresponding to a particular connection, the context table is referenced to retrieve the set of group identifiers corresponding to that connection.

  • Patent number: 7256402
Abstract: A flat panel X-ray imager using an amorphous selenium detector which uses a polymer grid structure within the X-ray conversion layer to form an interface between the X-ray conversion layer and the pixel electrodes. The grid structure provides an additional physical barrier between pixel electrodes that reduces electrical bridging due to crystallization of the amorphous selenium due to temperature increases while also reducing the delamination temperature by providing a good anchor to the selenium, as well as a “cushion” for thermal expansion or contraction of the pixel electrodes. The grid can further include one or more grid electrodes for effecting avalanche-gain within the X-ray conversion layer while minimizing dark current entry into the selenium layer from the pixel electrode.

  • Patent number: 6807171
Abstract: Apparatus and method for implementing virtual path aggregation (VPA) of underlying virtual connections at a switching node of a connection based communications network. A multi-service traffic shaping module (MTSM) at the switch implements algorithms to aggregate the VC and VP connections onto the aggregate VP by representing an aggregate VP as a plurality of circular linked lists or loops and assigning each VC connection to a link or element in the circular linked lists according to traffic descriptors. Weighting factors are used as between loops to dynamically select the next loop to service. Once this loop is chosen, the next VC to be serviced is identified by examining the circular linked list structure.

  • Patent number: 6636510
Abstract: In an N×N packet switch, for example an ATM switch, multicast connections receive backpressure signals from congested output ports in the switch core. The cells in the connections are destination address modified not to send to the congested output port, but to continue sending to the other output ports in the connection. The multicast cells may include a user selected primary route identification and be queued in a unicast input queue for the primary route before being destination address modified. Destination address modification for congestion may be accompanied by partial packet discard, through destination address modification of the remaining cells forming part of a multiple cell packet to remove the destination address for the congested port (whether or not it is now congested) where one of the multiple destination addresses of one of the cells in the packet has been modified to remove the destination address of the congested output port.
