Patent number: 12586476Abstract: A method for automatically guiding an aircraft includes receiving an ATIS message and decoding the content of the ATIS message. If the decoded content of the ATIS message includes a parameter relating to an active landing runway, the method includes creating a message requesting confirmation of the decoded content and commanding the sending of the message over a communication frequency with air traffic control, receiving a response from air traffic control and decoding the response to determine whether or not the response is a confirmation of the decoded content of the ATIS message. If the response is a confirmation of the decoded content of the ATIS message, the method includes determining a contingency trajectory of the aircraft at least partially in consideration of the decoded content of the ATIS message. The method also includes automatically guiding the aircraft along the determined contingency trajectory.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2024Date of Patent: March 24, 2026Assignees: Airbus (S.A.S.), Airbus Operations (S.A.S.)Inventors: Monika Litvova, Emmanuel Penverne, Denys Bernard, Albert Gine Soca

Patent number: 8560163Abstract: A method and a device for filtering diagnostic messages obtained from a plurality of elements of a system, each of these elements comprising diagnostic means capable of detecting a failure and of transmitting a message comprising at least one failure indication. The state of at least certain elements of the said plurality of elements is represented by a model of state. After at least one failure message has been received, this message is filtered according to the failure indication that it contains and according to the model of state. In response to the filtering step, the model of state is updated according to the failure indication or the message is rejected. The filtering step is advantageously based on a propositional logic mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2009Date of Patent: October 15, 2013Assignee: Airbus Operations S.A.S.Inventors: Denys Bernard, Christophe Bordry

Process and apparatus for evaluating operational risks for aiding in vehicular maintenance decisions
Patent number: 8296252Abstract: The invention relates to a method and devices for evaluating operational risks in order to aid in the decisions concerning maintenance operations on vehicles during scheduled utilization of the vehicle. Scheduled utilization comprises at least one utilization period. After the degradation of at least one of the components of the vehicle has been analyzed (130), the functional consequences, for the vehicle, of the analyzed degradation are evaluated (125) according to the scheduled utilization of the vehicle. An operational index of the vehicle is then determined (110) for the utilization periods according to the evaluated functional consequences.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2008Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Airbus Operations SASInventor: Denys Bernard -

Patent number: 7139644Abstract: A process and system for transmitting information on an aircraft may employ an avionics-type device having a first determining section that determines a first check code representative of information that one wishes to display on a display screen of an interface device available to an operator. The interface device may include a second determining section that determines an image corresponding to the representation of the information and a third determining section that determines a second check code representative of the image. A comparator intercompares the first and second check codes and displays the image on the display screen only if the first and second check codes are identical.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2004Date of Patent: November 21, 2006Assignee: Airbus FranceInventors: Denys Bernard, Yvan Fernandez-Ramos
