  • Patent number: 4222562
Abstract: A broom which is particularly constructed to be used for a broom ball game and to provide relatively improved performances. In particular, this broom is balanced to be biased in the hands of the user toward self stabilization in the proper angular position to strike the ball, the bundle-like portion of the broom is more economically and readily made of rubber and is provided with apertures to offer reduced air resistance during a stroke, to accelerate heat curing of the rubber body, and to produce a predetermined weight unbalance between two opposite sides of the rubber body relative to the handle. This broom includes a stick, the bundle-like rubber body fixed at one end of the stick, and the rubber body transversely tapers and has cutting lines to selectively cut the bottom edge at a preferred angle in relation with the height of the user.

  • Patent number: 4012855
Abstract: A footwear adapted for anti-skid use, such as on ice or any slippery or hard surfaces, to play a broom ball game or for curling and which includes an outsole of resilient rubber sponge or microcellular rubber or foam material, such as latex or plastic foam, having cavities to allow the outsole to yield in contact with a supporting surface and thereby produce increased traction or antiskidding. This footwear distinctively includes an outsole with cavities opening on the inner face of the outsole and extending in the latter short of the outer face to form a flexible outer wall and yieldable partitions between the cavities with an insole adhered on the inner face of the outsole against these partitions and closing the cavities. These cavities, being sealed by their individual walls and by the insole, produce sealed air spaces which are pushing back the flexible outer wall and protuberances, thus forcing the same to conform to any surface irregularity on which the sole rests.
