As such, the digital photographing apparatus may obtain a moving image even when a user attempts to capture the moving image without knowing that a photographing mode is a still image capturing mode, and may also obtain a still image at a desired moment even when the user attempts to capture the still image without knowing that the photographing mode is a moving image capturing mode.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing a plurality of images includes a still image encoder configured to compress the plurality of images to generate still image files; a resize unit configured to resize the plurality of images to generate frame image data; a moving image encoder configured to compress the frame image data corresponding to at least two images to generate a moving image file; and a file generator configured to generate a consecutively captured image file including the still image file and the moving image file. The apparatus provides the advantage of being able to display the captured images as a movie relatively quickly while at the same time providing access to high quality still images of the displayed captured images. A method of controlling the apparatus, and a recording medium having encoded thereon computer executable instructions for controlling the apparatus are disclosed.

Abstract: An embodiment of a digital photography apparatus includes a motion estimation unit configured to estimate an amount of motion of an object and a continuous shooting time interval determination unit configured to determine a continuous shooting time interval between consecutive stored image data frames. The continuous shooting time interval may be based at least in part on the estimated amount of motion of the object. The digital photography apparatus also includes an image capture device configured to generate a plurality of image data frames when the digital photography apparatus is operating in a continuous shooting mode. The plurality of image data frames may be generated at the continuous shooting time interval.

Abstract: A digital photographing apparatus is provided that determines a file name of an image file according to a Design rule for Camera File (DCF) standard, and a method of controlling the same. According to the digital photographing apparatus and the method of controlling the same, a user defined file name as determined by a user can be used.
