  • Patent number: 9315260
Abstract: An electrical swivel system may have a movable swivel member adapted to connect to a landing gear and a fixed swivel member adapted to connect to an airframe. Each may have an interface apparatus whereby electrical signals may be conducted between components of the movable swivel member and the fixed swivel member. In this manner, electrical signals may be conveyed across a mechanically movable joint.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 3, 2015
Date of Patent: April 19, 2016
    Assignee: GOODRICH CORPORATION
    Inventor: Derek C Milsom
  • Patent number: 9284047
Abstract: An articulated landing gear may include electrical lines and/or hydraulic lines located within the articulated landing gear. The articulated landing gear may have a hollow structural post and a hollow trailing arm coupled by a pivot joint. The electrical lines and/or hydraulic lines may be routed through an interior of the hollow structural post and through an interior of the hollow trailing arm. A bulkhead within the hollow structural post or the hollow trailing arms may include guide holes. The electrical lines and/or hydraulic lines may be supported by the bulkhead by passing through the guide holes. The electrical lines and/or hydraulic lines may be flexible around the pivot joint.

  • Patent number: 8668163
Abstract: A steering system for aircraft landing gear can be used, for example, for controlling one or more axles of a bogie style landing gear system, such as, but not limited to, a six-wheel bogie style landing gear system. The steering system includes a rack having a plurality of rack teeth. An actuator is operatively connected to move the rack in a linear direction. A pinion has a plurality of pinion teeth in meshing engagement with the rack teeth. The pinion includes a pinion body extending between the pinion teeth and a pinion pivot that is spaced apart from the pinion teeth. The actuator, rack, and pinion are configured and adapted so that linear motion of the rack imparted by the actuator results in rotation of the pinion about the pinion pivot for steering landing gear wheels.
