    Abstract: An adjustment mechanism for an office chair is disclosed. The adjustment mechanism may be used to adjust a height or position of an adjustable member of the chair. The adjustment mechanism can include an adjusting rod threaded through at least one, and in some arrangements two, adjusting members, the adjusting members each having a straight portion and a curved portion, the curved portion of each adjusting member received within a slot of a spreading member such that movement of the spreading member toward the adjusting rod spreads apart the adjusting members, creating a clamping force on the adjusting rod to set the height or position of the adjustable member of the chair.
