  • Patent number: 11292319
Abstract: An HVAC system for a motor vehicle includes a filter that absorbs odors and gases in a cabin of the motor vehicle and desorbs the odors and gases when heated, and a heater that is turned on to heat the filter during cool ambient conditions. The heater is turned off during warm ambient conditions and warm ambient air is utilized to heat the filter. The desorbed odors and gases are purged from the cabin of the motor vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2019
Date of Patent: April 5, 2022
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC
    Inventors: Nicholas Mazzocco, Derek Giordano
  • Publication number: 20200376934
Abstract: A vehicle air filtration system includes a housing having a first air filter having a first filtration level and positioned upstream of a second air filter having a second filtration level that is different than the first filtration level and a bypass door selectively operable to bypass air flow around the second air filter through a bypass passage.

  • Publication number: 20190366793
Abstract: The present application generally relates to control of vehicle cabin air recirculation in response to estimated carbon dioxide levels. In particular, the proposed method and apparatus use existing vehicle sensors to estimate carbon dioxide levels within a vehicle cabin to maximize internal cabin air recirculation in order to minimize the entry of outside harmful gases and reduce load on heating and air conditioning systems.

  • Patent number: 10295277
Abstract: The present teachings provide for a bracket for a heat exchanger assembly including a first heat exchanger, a second heat exchanger, and a third heat exchanger. The bracket can include a first landing, a second landing, a bridge member and a retention member. The first landing can be configured to be fixedly coupled to the first heat exchanger. The second landing can define a first aperture that can be configured to receive a first fastener through the second landing. The bridge member can be fixedly coupled to the first and second landings. The retention member can be fixedly coupled to the second landing. The retention member and the second landing can define a slot that can be adapted to receive a portion of the second heat exchanger.
