Abstract: A process for continuous and repetitive production of discrete articles of a desired cross-section from a deformable material can be effected by introducing the material into a moving passageway, causing the material to be drawn along the passageway by frictional drag, and, by blocking the passageway, compressing the material and causing it to enter into successively presented chambers shaped to produce articles of the desired configuration. Optionally the articles can be ejected from said chambers to enable the latter to be re-used. Apparatus for performing this process is also disclosed.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for the production of tube by continuous extrusion, in which material is fed to a passageway having a progressively decreasing cross-sectional area and defined by a first member rotatable relative to a second member, and a die ring co-operating with the first and second members to provide an annular extrusion path. The die ring may also be rotatable and be offset from the axis of rotation of the first member. The first member and die ring form a major part of said passageway, and the second member forms a minor part of the passageway, and the relative movement therebetween causes material fed to the passageway to be drawn along the passageway by frictional drag and to be extruded as tube through the annular extrusion path.

Abstract: Apparatus for performing extrusion has a rotatable wheel member with an endless groove in its periphery, a second member fixed relative to the wheel member and co-operating therewith to define a passageway therebetween, an abutment member fixed relative to the wheel member and projecting into said groove to block it, die orifice means associated positionally with said abutment member and leading from said passageway, and means for prestressing the material constituting at least the walls of the endless groove for avoiding any fatigue failure problems of the wheel member.
