  • Publication number: 20220338518
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for producing modified gum arabic, the method comprising: providing gum arabic; heating said gum arabic, resulting in heat-treated gum arabic; dissolving said heat-treated gum arabic in a solution; optionally, filtering said solution containing said dissolved gum arabic; and subjecting said solution containing said dissolved gum arabic to spray-drying. Further disclosed herein is a gum arabic from Acacia Senegal having (i) a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of ?3.8ยท106 Da, and/or (ii) a RMS-radius of gyration (Rg) of ?140 nm.

  • Publication number: 20220117278
Abstract: This technology described in this specification pertain to emulsions comprising a continuous aqueous phase, a disperse oil phase comprising a cannabinoid, and an emulsifier comprising quillaja saponin, wherein said disperse oil phase has a median particle size (d50) of 200 nm or less, and wherein the weight fraction of the disperse oil phase in the emulsion is at least 35 wt. % based on the weight of the emulsion; and/or the weight ratio of water to disperse oil phase in the emulsion is less than 1.15:1.0.

  • Publication number: 20220117890
Abstract: The technology disclosed in this specification pertains to an emulsion comprising (i) a continuous aqueous phase, (ii) an disperse oil phase comprising a cannabinoid, and (iii) an emulsifier which is gum arabic, wherein the weight ratio of gum arabic to said disperse oil phase is ?1:1. The emulsion may have a relatively small particle size with a relatively high oil load in combination. The emulsion may also have a small particle size without requiring a polysorbate or any co-surfactant.
