  • Publication number: 20230392917
Abstract: An agricultural baler includes a main bale chamber in which crop material is compressed into bales. The main bale chamber includes an inlet for receiving a wad of crop material from a pre-compression chamber of the agricultural baler, and an outlet for discharge of compressed crop material into a bale. The bale includes a plurality of flakes that are incrementally added to form the bale. A bale length sensor is configured to determine a current length of the bale as the bale is being formed in the main bale chamber. A controller is configured to estimate a completed length of the bale during formation of the bale based on (i) the current length of the bale being formed and (ii) a predicted thickness of an impending flake to be added to the bale.

  • Publication number: 20230389480
Abstract: An agricultural baler includes a main bale chamber; a bale length sensor that is configured to determine a length of the bale as the bale is being formed in the main bale chamber and output a bale length signal representative of the bale length; a knotter that is configured to wrap and tie twine around the bale in the main bale chamber; and a controller that is configured to output a knotter cycle initiation signal to the knotter when the length of the bale, as determined in the controller by the bale length signal, reaches a pre-determined bale length threshold value, and wherein the knotter cycle initiation signal actuates the knotter to wrap and tie twine around the bale. A remote control device, which is remote from the baler, is configured to communicate with the controller to remotely adjust the pre-determined bale length threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20230133831
Abstract: A towed earth moving implement features a longitudinal pull tongue, a winged blade assembly with a transverse center blade and a pair of angled outer wing blades, and a wheeled frame on which the blade assembly is carried. A pivotal blade-pitch between the pull tongue and the blade assembly defines a transverse blade pitch axis about which the blade is adjustable in pitch-angle relative to the pull tongue. In a pitch-neutral position, working edges of the wing blades reside in a same horizontal working plane as a working edge of the center blade, for ground leveling purposes. In an upwardly pitched position, the working edges of the wing blades reside in forwardly inclined relation to the horizontal working plane, for ditching purposes. In a downwardly-pitched position, the working edges of the wing blades reside in forwardly declined relation to the horizontal reference plane, for crowning purposes.

  • Patent number: 9338944
Abstract: A towable vertical stacking bale accumulator features angle-adjustable roller beds on an obliquely oriented trailer frame whereby a rearwardly declining slope of the rollers gravitationally conveys individual bales from the baler to a stacking station at the rear of the trailer frame, where an automatically controlled gate provides a stop for retaining the bales until either a full stack is compiled or an error is detected. Spring loaded bale lifters feature concave undersides to encourage retraction of same as they are lowered down the sides of a newly arrived bale, and carry hanging bale guides that prevent the incoming bales from overshooting sides of the roller bed. Lift frames on which the bale lifters are carried are raised and lowered by hydraulically driven lift arms, and are further stabilized by engagement of lift frame followers with guide members of upright support structures provided on opposing sides of the roller bed.
