  • Patent number: 4217726
Abstract: A doll having a first leg secured to the torso for pivotal movement relative thereto with the other leg hingedly coupled to the torso for pivotal movement about a fore-to-aft axis. The head member is interconnected through gear devices to the first leg, relative displacement between the first and second leg members can result in tilting the torso relative to the second leg member and rotating of the head in response to pivoting of the first leg member.

  • Patent number: 4215843
Abstract: A toy molding apparatus having a housing or container with a heat source therein surrounded by a heat directing baffle member, at least a portion of the baffle member being configured for receiving a plastic squeeze bottle containing a gelatinous substance therein, the substance being generally solid at room temperature and approaching a liquid state at approximately 105.degree. Fahrenheit. The bottle is positioned within the receptacle for heating by the heat source and upon reaching a fluid state it is poured into a separate mold member to set upon cooling.

  • Patent number: 4182076
Abstract: An animated doll configured in the form of a ballerina having a crown on the head thereof connected to an actuating member on the longitudinal center line of the doll, the other end of the member having a cam. One leg can be detented to a fixed position in vertical alignment with the torso of the doll with the other leg thereof being pivotally coupled to the torso with a crank affixed thereto for co-acting with the cam for causing the leg to kick. The actuating member has a square shaft portion engaging a mating aperture within a drive gear which is driven by a motor fixedly coupled within the torso. Upon holding the crown, the doll rotates and one leg can be pivoted by depressing the crown.

  • Patent number: 4177984
Abstract: A captive flying toy airplane is tethered to a boom pivotally mounted to a turntable for pivoting the boom for altitude adjustment of a toy airplane, the turntable being mounted to a pylon base housing containing drive gears therein. A control housing is provided to position first and second wire control members passing through a tube connected to the housing, one controller of the control housing varying the position of a slide wire rheostat to control the speed of the toy airplane, the second controller pivoting a bell crank through a vertical plane to control the position of an altitude control rod passing through the center of the turntable to effect pivoting of the boom. A sound cone mounted within the pylon has the apex portion engaging a circumferential ratchet surface on one of the drive gears for emitting a simulated motor sound proportional to the speed of rotation of the gear.

  • Patent number: 4141256
Abstract: A two-speed inertia motor having a pair of wheels secured to a common axis, one of the wheels being a drive wheel and having a gear portion coaxial therewith for selectively coupling to an inertia wheel through a first or second gear member for providing two-speed ratios between the rotation of the drive wheel and the inertia wheel. A main gear member is coupled to the drive wheel, the main gear member having a splined shaft portion for slidably receiving a clutch member for concurrent rotation therewith, the first and second gear members being freely rotatable on either side of said clutch member. Means are provided for shifting the clutch member into locking engagement with either the first gear member or the second gear member to secure the so-locked gear member into direct coupling relation between the drive wheel and the inertia wheel.

  • Patent number: 4141176
Abstract: In an apparatus for posing a doll, a platform is provided for supporting the legs of a doll and providing relative movement between the so-supported legs, the doll including means for moving the head in response to relative movement of the legs. The movement is accomplished by rotation of a lens member of a toy camera having a viewfinder through which the action can be observed to simulate a photography session.

  • Patent number: 4127948
Abstract: A play desk in the form of an animated character having the main body portion thereof in the form of an openable compartment with a first surface textured to provide a chalk board and the opposing surface having aligned parallel grooves and slots for receiving removable alphanumeric members parallel with the board by engaging the slots or perpendicular to the board by engaging the grooves. Simulated arm members are pivotable for supporting the desk on an incline with either body surface exposed. Simulated leg members are pivotable between a first position for supporting the play desk on a vertical plane or to a second position in line with the lower edge of the body compartment to permit inclining of the desk. A head portion is configured about the periphery for insertion therein or imprinting therein of a face of a character with the peripheral ridge forming a tray. The arm members may be hollow to serve as additional storage.
