Abstract: A method of reducing an effect of known computer based skills in a backgammon game includes the steps of arranging the playing pieces from farthest from home to closest to home in stacks of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 playing pieces, respectively, for each of a first player and a second player, and using at least two dice for each roll such that each of the first player and the second player is enabled to make at least two moves after each roll of the dice.

Abstract: A house-banked casino card game includes a dealer having a dealer hand and at least one player having a player hand. The dealer exposes a first community hand and a second community hand, and the player selects one of the first and second community hands as part of the player hand prior to additional cards being exposed. After exposing the additional cards, the dealer selects one of the first and second community hands as part of the dealer hand. The game is resolved based on a comparison of the player hand and the dealer hand. In the casino environment, the game may include an initial wager for the player to participate in the game, and a pick wager after the first and second community hands are exposed, which pick wager serves to select the first or second community hand. At least one bonus wager may also be included and is resolved according to a predetermined payout scale based on at least one of the dealer hand and the player hand or other card combinations.

Abstract: Gaming apparatus relating to a card game provides a screen image showing dealer cards 42 and players' cards 40. Player cards may be dealt face down, according to the game being played. Player controls 56 allow the player to control how the cards are revealed at the appropriate stage of the game. Thus, they may be revealed individually, allowing the player to adopt a strategy in which bets are placed as soon as a hand is found to meet a minimum strength, but without knowing the full strength of the hand. This adds to the excitement of play. The controls 56 also allow a player to instruct wagers to be made automatically when a hand meets a minimum requirement, thus speeding up game play.
