  • Patent number: 9970424
Abstract: A system includes a solid feed fuel pump configured to route a solid fuel flow from an inlet to an outlet. The solid feed fuel pump includes an actuated valve that is disposed within the outlet. The actuated valve is configured to adjust a compaction of the solid fuel flow while in the outlet. The actuated valve adjusts the compaction in response to active control based on sensed feedback from the system.

Date of Patent: May 15, 2018
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Steven Craig Russell, Derek L. Aldred, Jeffery Allen Rader
  • Patent number: 9114933
Abstract: A system is provided with a segmented solid feed pump having a plurality of pump segments coupled together in series along a path. Each pump segment of the plurality of pump segments has opposite side walls disposed about a holding receptacle. The segmented solid feed pump also includes a first transport section disposed along a first portion of the path, wherein the first transport section includes a first inlet duct, a first outlet duct, and first opposite guides extending between the first inlet duct and the first outlet duct.

  • Patent number: 4604918
Abstract: A stud tensioning apparatus includes an array of arcuate jaw segments that are movable inwardly to cause grooves on the segments to engage the threads of the studs. The tensioning force is applied to the segments by a pull member that has hangers received by apertures in the segments. The hangers fit loosely into the apertures, permitting the segments to move pivotably in two perpendicular directions to compensate for misalignment between the stud and the tensioning apparatus.
