  • Patent number: 9015149
Abstract: A universal distributed search system allows users to find and distribute search results (possibly including advertisements) to those with whom they communicate. The search results can be easily distributed by the user via a simple interface that allows the search results to be easily added to the user's content. In one implementation, the search results may be automatically generated by the system based on user input to a content creation application.

  • Patent number: 8862572
Abstract: A universal distributed search system allows users to find and distribute search results (possibly including advertisements) to those with whom they communicate. The search results can be easily distributed by the user via a simple interface that allows the search results to be easily added to the user's content. In one implementation, a content creation application includes a first interface configured to facilitate composition of a message by a user and a second interface configured to receive a search query from the user, display search results relating to the search query, and receive selections of the search results from the user. The messaging application automatically incorporates, in response to the selections, the selected ones of the search results into the message in the first interface.

  • Patent number: 7627828
Abstract: In a method of graphically representing users of an integrated email and instant messaging (IM) system, the system allows a second user to associate a graphical user identifier with a first user and suggests the graphical user identifier to the first user. The first user may accept or reject the graphical user identifier. If the first user accepts the graphical user identifier, the system displays the graphical user identifier to a third user when the third user accesses any email or IM message associated with the first user. The third user can override the graphical user identifier of the first user with a different graphical user identifier including a new one uploaded into the system by the third user.

  • Patent number: 7530078
Abstract: A method for certified delivery of an outgoing message or messages in a multipoint anonymous, publish/subscribe telecommunications system. The system for utilizing the method and program product is one having at least one publisher (10) and at least one subscriber (20). The method is carried out by first establishing a certified delivery session ledger. Next each outgoing message is labeled with a label including the delivery session name and a sequence number. The labeled outgoing message or messages are then sent to subscribers, and received by a subscriber. Various protocols are described.

  • Patent number: 7051118
Abstract: A method for anonymous subject-based addressing includes receiving, from a client computer, a point-to-point request message. The method also includes converting the point-to-point request message to a subject-based message. The subject-based message is also multicast. Additionally, a response is received to the subject-based message. The method also includes converting the response to the subject-based message to a point-to-point response message. Moreover, the point-to-point response message is transmitted back to the client computer.
