  • Patent number: 11902098
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods that provide a computerized device management framework that adaptively determines and applies security and configuration parameters to a device on a first network, and enables the adaptive application of such parameters as the device disconnects and connects to other networks. The disclosed framework enables the automatic detection of different networks being relied upon by the device for access to the Internet, upon which, management control policies of the device's activities can be controlled and managed in a unified manner. Accordingly, the disclosed framework can enable security and configuration mechanisms applied on a first network, upon which they are associated, to be seamlessly applied on another disparate network via a virtual private network connection enabled via proprietary mechanisms implemented on the device.

  • Publication number: 20230146079
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining whether dissimilar device identifiers in a network actually represent the same physical device. A method, according to one implementation, includes obtaining first and second sets of operational parameters related to first and second set of devices operating in a section of a network. The first and second sets of operational parameters include first and second sets of device identifiers representing the first and second sets of devices, respectively. The method also includes comparing the first set of device identifiers with the second set of device identifiers to find non-matching device identifiers. With respect to the non-matching device identifiers, the first and second sets of operational parameters are analyzed to determine if a device identifier of the first set of device identifiers and a device identifier of the second set of device identifiers likely represent the same device.

  • Publication number: 20060085559
Abstract: A system and method for efficiently forwarding client requests from a proxy server in a TCP/IP computing environment is described. A plurality of transient requests are received from individual sending clients into a request queue. Each request is commonly addressed to an origin server. Time estimates of TCP overhead, slow start overhead, time-to-idle, and request transfer time for sending the requests over each of a plurality of managed connections to the origin server are dynamically calculated, concurrent to receiving and during processing of each request. The managed connection is chosen from, in order of preferred selection, a warm idle connection, an active connection with a time-to-idle less than a slow start overhead, a cold idle connection, an active connection with a time-to-idle less than a TCP overhead, a new managed connection, and an existing managed connection with a smallest time-to-idle. Each request is forwarded to the origin server over the selected managed connection.
