Publication number: 20230400269Abstract: A firearm system is provided. A pump-action firearm, such as a shotgun, includes a buffer attached to a trigger housing. The buffer consists of a resilient or semi-resilient material and is positioned such as to face towards an opening the receiver in which the magazine tube is partially received. The buffer includes a contoured bottom surface and an upper surface, configured in a way which shortens the space available within an opening of a receiver while accommodating the loading of shells into a magazine tube. Upon moving a shell into the opening, such as by pumping the action, the shell impacts the buffer, which stabilizes the shell prior to being lifted by an elevators. For shorter shells, this reduces the risk of a jamming event. For longer shells, the buffer is configured to compress to accommodate the additional length.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2023Publication date: December 14, 2023Inventors: Derek Parker, Thaddeus Boruchowski, David Johnson, Wayne Hopkins

Publication number: 20220409997Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and systems directed towards automating tournaments within a gaming environment. Data regarding a first set of players that registered for a tournament may be received by a tournament server. The players are placed in a tournament queue. If the number of players in the tournament queue exceeds a certain threshold, then one or more tournaments are created based on a model tournament, the maximum size of the tournament, and the number of players in the tournament queue.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2021Publication date: December 29, 2022Inventors: Adrian Harris, Christopher Thielbar, Derek Parker, Yuji Tsuchikawa

Patent number: 11457277Abstract: A system and method for making context-based action suggestions is provided. Data regarding one or more activities may be stored in memory. Such activities may be associated with an interactive content title and one or more actions. Information regarding a current user status for each activity may be received by a server. A set of one or more activities available to a user based on the current user status may be identified. One or more actions may be filtered based on availability to the user and the current user status for each identified activity. A subset of the filtered actions may be displayed.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2019Date of Patent: September 27, 2022Assignee: Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.Inventors: Mischa Stephens, Steven Trombetta, Daniel Hiatt, Benedikt Neuenfeldt, Junya Noda, Atsushi Fuse, Nobukazu Koyama, Adil Sherwani, Derek Parker, Parsa Shirazi, Charles Wayne Denison, II

Publication number: 20220143516Abstract: A system and method for creating and/or administering operation of replayable activities for interactive content titles. The replayable activities may be competitive in nature and may be used to determine a ranking. A first set of data associated with an interactive content title may be received. The first set of data associated with the interactive content title may be received from an interactive content source server. The interactive content title may be is at least partially hosted at the interactive content source server. The first set of data may be associated with a replayable activity for the interactive content title. A score may be determined based on the first set of data for an associated user account. The associated user account may be placed in the ranking based on scores of other user accounts and respective sets of data associated with the replayable activity for the interactive content title.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2021Publication date: May 12, 2022Inventors: Christopher Thielbar, Adil Sherwani, Derek Parker, Matt Bloom-Carlin

Patent number: 10041751Abstract: Disclosed herein is a rotary lockup action including a firing mechanism for a firearm. The firearm including a receiver having a cavity therein configured to accept the firing mechanism. The firing mechanism comprising a bolt guide rail fixed to the inner surface of the cavity of the receiver. The firing mechanism also comprises a bolt sliding along a longitudinal axis on the bolt guide rail. Also disclosed is a change handle rotatably mounted to the bolt so as to rotate relative thereto about a vertical axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The charge handle may be mounted to the bolt so as to longitudinally reposition therewith. The charge handle having a surface defining a cut therein aligned with a slot in the bolt when the bolt is in a rearward position; and wherein the surface defining a cut in the charge handle is not aligned with the slot in the bolt when the bolt is in a forward position.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2017Date of Patent: August 7, 2018Assignee: Primary WeaponsInventors: Dean Sylvester, Derek Parker
