Abstract: Aircraft communications networks, network devices, and methods of determining compatibility on an aircraft communications network are disclosed herein. The aircraft communications network includes, but is not limited to, a communications bus, a first network device, and a second network device. The first network device is communicatively coupled with the communications bus and is configured to publish on the communications bus a configuration manifest that describes a compatible configuration of hardware and software for the aircraft communications network.
