    Abstract: A process for separating zinc and copper values from an aqueous solution of copper and zinc salts having a pH of between about 0.5 and 6 is provided comprising:A. contacting said aqueous solution with the copper salt of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid to form a zinc-containing organic phase and a copper-containing aqueous phase;B. separating said zinc-containing organic phase from said copper-containing aqueous phase; andC. stripping said organic phase to form a solution of a zinc salt and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid.
