More specifically the present invention relates to methods of using compositions comprising at least one resistin agonist, resistin polynucleotide and/or resistin polypeptide for the prevention and/or treatment of mammalian hematopoietic disorders, including, but not limited to, anemia, leukemia, and hematopoietic conditions caused by bone marrow transplantation or chemo-/radiation therapy.
