  • Patent number: 5219927
Abstract: The surface of lapideous materials, marble, sandstone, tiles, cement conglomerates and articles and structures manufactured therefrom are consolidated and protected against atmospherical and polluting agents by superficially applicating a mix composed of:a) a vinylidene fluoride elastomeric copolymer comprising 55-85% by mols of vinylidene fluoride, 15-45% by mols of hexafluoropropene and 0-30% by mols of tetrafluoroethylene;b) polytetrafluoroethylene or a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene containing up to 12% by mols of other perfluorinated monomers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 26, 1991
Date of Patent: June 15, 1993
    Assignee: Ausimont S.p.A.
    Inventors: Giovanni Moggi, Desiderata Ingoglia
  • Patent number: 5212016
Abstract: Surfaces of stone materials, marble, sandstone, bricks, concrete and articles manufactured therefrom are consolidated and protected from atmospheric agents and pollutants by applying onto said surfaces a mixture consisting of:(a) 2-40% by weight of polyvinylidene fluoride, or 1-20% by weight of a polyalkylmethacrylate wherein the alkyl group contains from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;(b) an elastomeric copolymer of vinylidene fluoride, constituting the balance to 100% and being, in moles, 55-85% of vinylidene fluoride, 15-45% of hexafluoropropene and 0-30% of tetrafluoroethylene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 1991

  • Patent number: 5077097
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for protecting stone materials, marble, tiles and cement as well as articles manufactured from these materials from the decay caused by the atmospheric agents and pollutants. The process uses a mixture consisting of:1) polytetrafluoroethylene in the form of an aqueous dispersion,2) an emulsion or a microemulsion of perfluoropolyethers either having or not having functional groups at their ends which is applied onto the surface of the materials or articles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 1989
Date of Patent: December 31, 1991
    Assignee: Ausimont S.r.L.
Inventors: Giovanni Moggi, Daria Lenti, Desiderata Ingoglia
  • Patent number: 4985282
Abstract: The surfaces of stony materials, tiles, cement conglomerates and relevant manufactured articles are protected from atmospheric agents and pollutants by surface application of a protective material consisting of a mixture comprising a vinylidene fluoride polymer or copolymer containing 55-100 mol % of vinylidene fluoride, 0-45 mole % of hexafluoropropene and 0-30 mol % of tetrafluoroethylene and an aqueous microemulsion or emulsion of perfluoropolyethers. Such mixtures are applied by conventional methods onto the surface to be protected.
