  • Publication number: 20040244516
Abstract: A gear selector device for a transmission of a motor vehicle in which at least one gear wheel 2, 3 and one sliding sleeve 4 are situated upon one transmission shaft 1. For axial displacement of the sliding sleeve 4 upon the transmission shaft 1, a pressure-medium actuatable shifting device 45 is used which is supplied with a control pressure medium through a hole 10 within the transmission shaft 1. When several such sliding sleeves 4, 20 are disposed upon such a transmission shaft 1, there results a higher total construction cost for the control pressure supply thereof. The object of the invention is a transmission shaft 1 having several sliding sleeves 4, 20 to reduce the total construction cost for the axial displacement of the sliding sleeves 4, 20. To the end, it is provided that the shifting devices 45, 46 of the sliding sleeves 4, 20 can be supplied independently of each other with a control pressure medium through one common pressure medium hole 6 in the transmission shaft 1.

  • Publication number: 20040220011
Abstract: A transmission (1) for distributing a drive torque to at least two output shafts (7, 8) which has at least two planetary gear sets (2, 3) with at least three shafts wherein each shaft (4, 5) of a planetary gear set (2, 3) is connected with one input shaft (6). Besides, each shaft of a planetary gear set (2, 3) constitutes one of the output shafts (7, 8) and at least one other shaft (9 or 10) of a planetary gear set (2 or 3) is operatively connected with one shaft (10 or 9) of one other planetary gear set (3 or 2). A torque of a shaft (9 or 10) dependent on operating state can be supported according to an operating state of the respective other shaft (10 or 9) via an operative connection (11) therewith in a manner such that when a rotational speed difference occurs between the output shafts (7, 8) a torque that changes the rotational speed difference abuts via the operative connection (11) on the planetary gear sets (2, 3).

  • Publication number: 20040082436
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling and regulating the drive train of a vehicle, comprising a drive unit, a transmission and an output unit. The transmission has controllable free-wheel units corresponding with pairs of toothed wheels for disengaging or engaging an old or a new gear and a clutch mounted on the output side. In the presence of a shift command for carrying out a higher traction shift, the transmission capacity of the clutch is adjusted in a manner such that a current drive torque of the drive unit applied to said clutch is transmitted to the output unit and the clutch exhibits at least an approximately slip-free state. When a higher traction shift exists, an operative connection is suddenly created between a controllable free-wheel unit and a corresponding pair of toothed wheels of the new gear, and the operative connection of the old gear is at least almost simultaneously canceled.

  • Publication number: 20040029679
Abstract: Described is a method for controlling and regulating a drive train of a vehicle comprising one drive unit, one transmission and one output unit. The transmission has controllable free-wheel device corresponding with toothed wheel pairs for disconnecting or connecting an old or a new gear and located on the input side one clutch. In the presence of a shifting signal for carrying out a higher traction shift, an input torque of the drive unit is quickly reduced so that a first vibration is induced in the drive unit. During a subsequent shifting, an operative connection is abruptly created between a free-wheel device and a toothed wheel pair corresponding therewith in a manner such that a second vibration counteracting the first vibration is produced in the drive train. With the engagement of the new gear the operative connection of the old gear is canceled as a result of a torque reversal from a pull torque to a push torque.

  • Patent number: 5921362
Abstract: A synchronizing device (2) is proposed for torque-transmitting connection of two rotary parts of a shift transmission, in particular for connecting a transmission shaft (4) with gearwheel (6, 8) rotatably supported on the transmission shaft (4). A synchronizer sleeve (30) has an outer disc carrier (36) connected with a gearshift device (64) and an inner disc carrier (34). A set of discs (40) is provided between the disc carriers (34, 36). The adjacent discs of the set of discs (40) are alternatively connected either with the inner disc carrier (34) or with the outer disc carrier (36). When the speed of rotation of the outer disc carrier (36) differs from that of the inner disc carrier (34), the discs allow a synchronization moment. For that purpose the outer disc carrier (36) has a device (62) for form-fittingly connecting the outer disc carrier (36) with a device (60, 76) on the gearwheel (6, 8).

  • Patent number: 5782331
Abstract: The invention concerns gearshift transmissions with a lock synchronization arrangement in which one synchronizer member, connected with a transmission shaft and at least one gear wheel rotating at a different speed, can be coupled together during synchronous speed by means of an annular sliding sleeve axially movable by a gearshift force. Coupling teeth of the sliding sleeve mesh with corresponding coupling teeth of each rotating gear wheel or of a clutch member connected with each rotating wheel. Between the sliding sleeve and each rotating gear wheel is situated one synchronizer ring, parts of said synchronizer ring forming, with parts connected with the gear wheel or provided thereon, a positively engaged coupling. In the absence of synchronism, the axial movement of the sliding sleeve is locked by blocking surfaces of locking teeth. The coupling teeth are stub-ended coupling teeth which are dampened by elastic elements.

  • Patent number: 5586470
Abstract: The invention concerns a gear-changing device for a transmission, in particular a toothed gear system. During switching operations two gear stages of a gear group should not be simultaneously engaged. According to the invention this is prevented by the fact that a slider-crank mechanism (4) (oscillating cranks and a slide rod (1)) are moved from a stationary rest position to their switching position. The rest position is urged by coupling mechanisms (6). A driving position is established with the slide rod (1). In order to prevent two speeds from being simultaneously switched during a faulty operation, the distances between the rest positions and between the driving position (FIG. 1 ) of the coupling mechanisms (6) differ.
