  • Patent number: 6625127
Abstract: The adaptive radio subscriber station (MS) transmits a request (SDRQ) to the transmission network in which it wishes to log on, by which request (SDRQ), interface information (SWIN) is called up in order to identify the radio transmission interface of the transmission network. A control device (for example SCP) in the transmission network receives the request (SDRQ), evaluates it and passes it on to a data device (for example SDP) by which the interface information (SWIN) is provided. A data link is set up in order to transmit the interface information (SWIN) between the data device (for example SDP) and the radio subscriber station (MS) which receives the interface information (SWIN) in the downward transmission direction via a data channel (UDTC) of a data service. The advantages are the avoidance of additional transmission capacity for matching and that the interface information is called up only on request from the adaptive radio subscriber station.

  • Patent number: 6314302
Abstract: In the method, in the telecommunication system (UNW) N logical speech channels (e.g., S11, S12, S13) are used for the transmission of the speech signals of N subscribers, and only M (with M≦N) logical image channels (e.g., B11), which are selected previously, are used for the transmission of the image signals of M subscribers. The subscriber terminal device (MMS) outputs to the subscriber the speech signals, received via an interface (AI, CI), of the N subscribers, and displays to the subscriber the image signals, received from the transceive means, of the M subscribers. By the deliberate selection of an image channel (e.g., B11), or of several image channels, from a multiplicity of image channels, the transmission bandwidth required on the interface (in particular, a radio interface to mobile radio subscribers) for multimedia services can be constructed flexibly, and can be adapted to the existing transmission capacity of the interface.

  • Patent number: 6256297
Abstract: A method for transmitting information in a universal transmission network wherein information about the total number of combination points at which two transmission paths are combined to form a single transmission path a or an individual transmission path is split into two transmission paths a is entered in a transmission frame by a radio subscriber station which uses a plurality of redundant transmission paths set up in parallel via a radio. The number of combination points which the incoming transmission frame has passed through is determined at the combination points in the transmission network, and information about this is also transmitted in an outgoing transmission frame. In consequence, the combination point at which the total number of combination points required in the network is reached can be selected in a dynamic and flexible manner as the interworking point in the transmission network for conversion of information encoded specifically for mobile radio networks.

  • Patent number: 6198737
Abstract: The combination point (for example, CP1) at which the two last transmission paths are combined or the single transmission path is divided is selected by a central control means (SCP) in the transmission network, which is informed of all combination points (CP1, CP2) at which two redundant transmission paths are respectively combined or a single transmission path is divided, as interworking point (IWP) in the transmission network at which mobile radiotelephone network-specifically encoded information contained in the transmission frame are converted into fixed network-specifically encoded information.
