Abstract: A method for the permanent shaping of hair, in which the hair is treated with an aqueous preparation of a keratin-reducing substance before and/or after a mechanical shaping step, rinsed with water and fixed by treatment with an aqueous preparation of an oxidizing agent and rinsed with water, wherein, after the oxidative fixing step, the mechanically shaped hair is aftertreated with an aqueous composition comprising a dissolved aluminium (III) salt and a hydroxydi- or tri-C.sub.4-6 -carboxylic acid; the novel composition itself; and a kit for effecting such method.

Abstract: An aqueous dispersion of a copolymer offrom about 50 to 60% by weight ethyl acrylatefrom about 30 to 40% by weight methacrylic acidfrom about 5 to 15% by weight acrylic acid andfrom about 0.02 to 0.04% by weight of a polyethylenically copolymerizable monomer, for example ethylene glycol dimethacrylate. The dispersion is suitable as an additive for aqueous, mildly acidic preparations of hydrogen peroxide to impart an increased viscosity to them after neutralization. The hydrogen peroxide preparations in question are particularly suitable for use as a developer composition for oxidative hair dyes and hair bleaches.

Abstract: Hair-cosmetic compositions for improving the structure, resilience and strength of hair comprising a content of onic acids derived from aldohexoses or disaccharides containing a free aldehyde function and/or their .gamma.- or .delta.-lactones and a method of improving the structure and strength of hair, particularly hair which has been adversely affected by cosmetic treatments such as dyeing, bleaching, permanent waving, etc.
