    Abstract: A method for producing a motor vehicle rim made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy for a motor vehicle wheel. The motor vehicle rim has a rim base delimited on opposite sides by an outer horn and an inner horn, a hub with a central recess and a hole circle and a rim center connecting the rim base and the hub to one another and acting eccentrically on the rim base in longitudinal section. The motor vehicle rim is produced in one piece and continuously in a casting mold by vacuum die casting of a casting material, wherein the motor vehicle rim has a small wall thickness of at most 15 mm at least in some regions and/or a curvature with a small radius of curvature of at most 4 mm.

    Abstract: A method for demolding a casting from a casting mold having at least one casting core which images a passage opening in the casting connecting two outer sides of the casting and is produced from a molding material bound by a binder which decomposes under the influence of temperature, wherein the casting mold undergoes a heat treatment in a furnace for the demolding, during which it is heated to a temperature at which the binder loses its binding effect. In the furnace, hot gas is flowed through a passage formed in the casting core of the casting mold, the temperature of the hot gas corresponding at least to the temperature at which the binder of the molding material loses it binding effect such that the casting core decomposes into fragments or separate sand particles as a consequence of the influence of the hot gas.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a casting mould for casting a casting, in particular an engine block for a combustion engine, as well as to the use of such a casting mould, comprising mould parts 1, 2, 3 and casting cores 4, 5, 6, 7 produced from moulding sand, and at least one casting core 4, 5, 6, 7 for the formation of a space in the casting. The casting mould according to the invention makes it possible, in a simple manner, for castings to be produced in which at least one locally closely confined section is formed with a microstructure which differs from the remainder of the casting. This is achieved in that a section of the casting core 4, 5, 6, 7 is formed by a chill 9 which is manufactured from a material of which the thermal conductivity is many times higher than the thermal conductivity of the other section 8 of the casting core 4, 5, 6, 7, consisting of moulding sand.
